Someone told me that Sten from DAO is of a different group of Qunari who have no horns. Is this true?

Also, do we actually know his name? Do Qunari even have names? How do they tell each other apart? If you call out "Sten" in a crowd of Qunari wouldn't 10 of them turn around and say hi?

All this time I thought Sten is his name... From now on I'm calling him cookie monster.

Yes, he has no horns. It has nothing to do with being a hybrid.

Sten is a title and rank in the Qun.

Qunari may not have names but I find that a bit ... odd. I mean how do they identify individually. I can think of several occations where a more or less unique name comes in handy. For example mail adress etc.

'Our' Sten was unique and there are quite a bunch of those. It is a sort of genetic ... thing. Can't say flaw, because not having horns isn't really that bad.

In Dragon Age II,
it is revealed that most qunari have horns. Some are born without them,
but it is not considered a defect — on the contrary, those born without
horns are considered special, as they are meant for a special role in
Qunari society such as a Ben-Hassrath or an envoy to the other races. Sten, as a soldier of the Beresaad, falls into this category. It is not uncommon for Qunari who betray their beliefs to remove their own horns (as in the case of Armaas), though the reason for this act is not yet clear.[2]

So our Sten has no horns and no name... Well at least he can sleep in a bed without poking through the pillows.

So the horned Qunari is not a retcon then? But the elves are still permanently changed right? I mean Zev looks different...

Seriously the Qun have no individual identifiers? Who the *bleep* should I put as the receiver for these cookies? "Guy with no horns who says no alot"?

And what about that Qunari merchant from Awakening? What's so special about him? Why are all the Qunari in DAO hornless? And why are all the Qunari in DA2 horny and shirtless? Are only the horn-less Quns allowed to wear shirts?

again the horns are part of the new design but because Sten was a major player giving him horns would ruin him Zeveran still is Elfish because the elves did not get an enormus makeover like the Qunari

..and after playing through DA2...think it's a retcon that will be better for the series and was the right call..as long as Sten doesn't suddenly grow horns or something..

..although. That would make a lovely option for many innapropriate jokes..*strokes chin throughtfully*

Ah well, I wish cookie-monster-Sten would have said something about being without name in Origins. I was so upset when I killed horny-shirtless-Sten in DA2...

Then I killed another HSS and I was like WTF?

Even the Borg have individual identifiers..

Sten from Origins doesn't have to scratch his head against trees. But he's still a rather sulky fellow.

Zevran, imo, looks horribad in DA 2.

..and my Warden would be all like "Sten? Is that a horn on your head...or are you just happy to see me?" ;)

Actually, there is party banter about it. Between Zevran and Sten, I believe. Bad memory as far as that goes, but there definately was a convo about it.
