Also, do we actually know his name? Do Qunari even have names? How do they tell each other apart? If you call out "Sten" in a crowd of Qunari wouldn't 10 of them turn around and say hi?
All this time I thought Sten is his name... From now on I'm calling him cookie monster.

Qunari may not have names but I find that a bit ... odd. I mean how do they identify individually. I can think of several occations where a more or less unique name comes in handy. For example mail adress etc.
'Our' Sten was unique and there are quite a bunch of those. It is a sort of genetic ... thing. Can't say flaw, because not having horns isn't really that bad.

Yes, he has no horns. It has nothing to do with being a hybrid.

it is revealed that most qunari have horns. Some are born without them,
but it is not considered a defect — on the contrary, those born without
horns are considered special, as they are meant for a special role in
Qunari society such as a Ben-Hassrath or an envoy to the other races. Sten, as a soldier of the Beresaad, falls into this category. It is not uncommon for Qunari who betray their beliefs to remove their own horns (as in the case of Armaas), though the reason for this act is not yet clear.[2]

So the horned Qunari is not a retcon then? But the elves are still permanently changed right? I mean Zev looks different...
Seriously the Qun have no individual identifiers? Who the *bleep* should I put as the receiver for these cookies? "Guy with no horns who says no alot"?
And what about that Qunari merchant from Awakening? What's so special about him? Why are all the Qunari in DAO hornless? And why are all the Qunari in DA2 horny and shirtless? Are only the horn-less Quns allowed to wear shirts?

again the horns are part of the new design but because Sten was a major player giving him horns would ruin him Zeveran still is Elfish because the elves did not get an enormus makeover like the Qunaristh128 wrote...
So our Sten has no horns and no name... Well at least he can sleep in a bed without poking through the pillows.

Well it is a retcon, just one they covered up better than the others.
..and after playing through DA2...think it's a retcon that will be better for the series and was the right call..as long as Sten doesn't suddenly grow horns or something..
..although. That would make a lovely option for many innapropriate jokes..*strokes chin throughtfully*
