As most of the people on these boards, I found the trailer where Hawke is fighting the Arishok genuinely badass, but after the game's release I immediately realised that "Hey, the default Hawke looks different than the trailer one!"

I've read somewhere that Hawke's supposed to be 21 (31 by the end of the game), but the default face is definitely the face of a 21-year old, unless he's had plastic surgery by Sith lightning (think Palpatine, Revenge of the Sith).

The trailer-face, however, is much more pretty-boyish, while still having a badass touch to it. So, with a picture of trailer-Hawke, I embarked on a quest to make him come true. Sadly, I found that the only beard that looks right lacks a moustache.

Why, Bioware, did you make your own default look like he's twenty years older than he's supposed to be?

I agree, I'm notttt a fan of default Male Hawke. CG Trailer Hawke, yes indeed.

But yeah, I had to end up going for a similar-yet-not version. Then I scrapped him and changed his coloring slightly while maintaining family resemblance to an extent.

My biggest issue is the beard, none of them look like the trailer version. You can get the hair and tattoo for other presets via mods so you can have a younger looking Hawke but the beard still bothers me.

Um... my game ended in Year 7.
Is Varric telling Cassandra Hawke's story happening in Year 10?

I haven't finished the game yet, but I heard that it spanned ten years. My sources must've been wrong, then.
