I'm currently in my third playthrough (mage this time) and this is the first time I've had this happen to me.
What's going on is that sometimes during combat, the identifier above enemies seems to go dull (as in, not bright red per usual) and it won't let me attack them, I'm only able to use AoE spells to get any damage whatsoever against them, or rely solely on the rest of the party.
Also, once enemies are felled, an attempt to loot the bodies (with the indicator that they've got something to take there) yields only staff twirling and forces me to use the radial menu to focus on a single body, loot it, and then for some reason the game allows me to loot any other body with no problems.
Just wanted to see if anyone else was experiencing this.

I've had this happen several times. Can be very annoying with my dual weilder I'm trying to play when trying to shove an assasinate on a boss like the high dragon but for the life of me, I can't seem to target the damn thing. Then boom dead outta nowhere cuz I stood there in the open for too long and got alpha'd.

I've had this trouble a lot of times too. Wasn't very funny when I was in single combat with the Arishok
It seems the game sort of pops the character out of combat mode, while enemies still attacking.

Yeah, not been a game breaker but quite annoying - but I see this a lot in combat.
Only seen it once or twice when looting I think.

I get this all the time with my fem hawke mage, everyone is just dull red and I cannot engage them. Sucks when there is a huge boss and he is wailing on you and you cant fight back

I just got it during the first vartarral fight, I could always target the vartarral, but all the spiders that spawn were dull red. That...was not fun.

Hate to sound whiny, lol, but it happened again today.
Against the High Dragon. lol.
Also, this might be normal, but it wouldn't allow my mage to attack the high dragon when it was on it's perch. I had to use AoE spells to deal any damage at all from there.

This happens to me frequently as well, though usually I find I can get around it by cycling between targets using the D-pad while the radial menu is open. Still irritating, though.

I'm pretty sure it's meant to be not attackable by conventional means when it's on it's perch - it makes sense to me.
But I have had this issue as well with the enemy's health bar turning dull red and I can't target them. As well, it happened first during the Varterral fight, then in random gang encouters in Kirkwall. Very annoying since I'm sword & board and want everything to attack me. Hard to do when I can't target the stragglers.
