And that was more of a dilemma than the decision of whether Loghain would pay for his betrayal or be allowed to live? Or whether Anora should be punished for her father's crimes? The archdemon, even though he was the final encounter in Origins, wasn't the game's true villain.
And to be honest, I consider Loghain to be far more memorable than the opposing faction leaders in DA2.

While Loghain wasn't as evil as Irenicus, he did commit dreadful crimes. He was responsible for the death of thousands. He is guilty beyond question, and there is no justification for what he did. The wardens he killed were heroes, and it cannot be argued that they somehow deserved to be left behind on the battlefield. In DA II however both factions are right and wrong. So no matter whose champion you decide to be, you will end up fighting good people, who did not do anything wrong, and did not deserve to be killed.

So yes, I am saying that saving Ferelden from a dragon is the better ending, because guess what? In that game, while my choices all lead to the final conclusion, there was actual moral ambiguity and tough decisions to make. In DA2, all paths followed the same linear reused dungeon path, and my only options were to be Nice, Snarky, or Rude about it.

I respect your oppinion, but we are in a spoiler free forum so please edit your post....

I could be wrong but I think the spoiler free part related to Dragon Age 2 while in the Dragon Age 2 forum.

*gasp* You mean Ferelden was saved from the Archdemon?! You dirty game from 2008/09 game spolier! j/k hehe..

Yeah Loghain was pretty good. I Only spared him once in one of my many, many, many play throughs of DA:O. Rest of the time I was happy to slice his head off.

There were spoilers from DA II in the original post, but I did not quote them... I'm not that stupid you know. :))

It would be kind of funny to tell her to edit the post, but leave the spoilers in my reply..

Recycled maps, lulz blood mages are behind everything, more canon then Origins, and it's suffering from a bad and somewhat cliche story.

And Origin's wasn't cliche?

There's always haters and there's always fans, i personally enjoyed DA2, however it did have some flaws but lets face it, so does every other game out there, no game is perfect.

I found the majority of the things added (new talents, companions and such) acceptable and enjoyable, the re-used maps as said by many others here however was one of those things that did kinda annoy me but i'm sure they'll learn from this and apply better to DA3, other than reused map, the game itself was brilliant (still playing it now 5/6th playthrough).

I didn't quite like the DLC " The Exiled Prince " however, i found it rather boring in comparison to DA:O DLC.

Must say that, while I can enjoy DA2 as a cool action-rpg game... as I advance my first run through the game (Act3 atm)... playing the very same areas over and over and over is making me a bit sick of it...

I wouldn't call it hate. More like disappointment. Everyone was expecting an epic game and DA2 just doesn't feel all that epic. It's a culmination of all their design choices including game play changes that could only make sense to a gerbil.

Looking at it superficially for a few minutes it appears to be related to DA:O, but play it for several hours and you realize there's a big difference.

At this point I'm looking forward to all the new games coming up. I'd say Witcher 2 and certainly Skyrim both should have an easy time surpassing DA2. Hopefully Dungeon Siege 3 and Kingdoms of Amalur will also kick butt.

The only thing DA2 really did right was the companions. They felt nicely fleshed out, though the game could have focused on them a LOT more and been all the better for it. Next time instead of all the boring anonymous kill/filler quests, it'd be cool to explore the relationships with the companions and have them really affect the story in significant ways, so as to really add to replay value.

@DungeonLord, Thanks, Kingdoms of Amalur had not popped up on my radar, looks interesting. Although seeing the EA logo leaves me cautious :D
Although pretty much nothing has been revelead about it, I'm having some hopes for Neverwinter(2011) as well.

And yeah, I agree, it's less hate and more dissapointment.

Witcher 2 have QTE (quick time events), twitch hack&slash combat, no more pausing, MMOish itemization and a dialog wheel similar to DA2. They made more changes to the gameplay then BioWare did from DAO to DA2. Doesn't mean it's bad, I just find it funny that people use that game as something that will do better then DA2, when the game have a totally new gameplay...

Also, DS3 is going to be bugged like hell (Obsidian's trade mark).

Loghain wasn't evil, he was protecting his country from an Orlesian invasion.  He did what he thought was right, even if it meant sacrificing the King.

@Greywarden, Although I do own the game, owning it isn't a prerequisite to playing it and having an opinion. Of course, one can question their right to complain considering they are not customers. But wether they are customers or not, they can still have an opinion. Even disregarding the piracy of the game, there are many who rent it or borrow from a friend.

EDIT: Then there is the group who simply haven't registered the game. Realized this when looking at my own profile that I don't have ME2 registered even though I've had it since release :)

Not a prerequisite for having an opinion, yes.

Not a prerequisite for a VALID opinion? Hell no.
