I have a problem with Mass Effect. I have: Windows XP SP3, AMD Athlon 64 x2 3600+, 3GB ram, Geforce 9800 GT (erlier I hadhad 7600GT and the problem was the same).
Normally I have about 40 FPS, but when it comes to fight it's about 20. It doesn't depend on settings. The problem appears while playing with low graphic settings and 800x600 and while playing with 1280x1024 and high gaphic settings.
There have been many things I've tried to do but to no effect. I insalled Dual-Core Optimizer but it has changed nothing. Also uninstalling my Norton 360 was fruitless. I had heard that sound cards from Creative (I have Soundblaster) can be a problem, but I have also played the game using differnt card.
I have no idea what to do.
