Now that it's possible to view the talk table, it is verified that Zevran is supposed to give different dialog if he's in a romance with the warden and if the warden performed the US while in a romance.  While I haven't played on a warden who did the ultimate sacrifice, he most definitely is NOT giving the proper dialog if in a romance.

Makes me sad :(

Me too :( The Zev romance is one of the better ones in DAO. It needs to be noted in DA2.

The case is the same with Leliana's DLC cameo. I am assuming it is about the importing save games from Witch Hunt or the other DLC's. I hope they fix it though, along with the other bugs.

Another reason we need a toolset so you wonderful modders can fix stuff like this! Thanks for digging around, ejoslin. :)

No, I don't think it's that since when I checked the flags in an editior (pyGFF) for the Zevran romance, it was set correctly.  It's very likely a dialog bug.  I hope they release a toolset soon if they don't fix this.  I don't mind fixing dialog bugs, though that doesn't help people on consoles.

Edit: I'm torn between being happy that I could confirm this was a bug, and sad that this bug exists (though I suspected it strongly anyway).  I AM glad that Zevran is supposed to be faithful to his warden, but sad that this dialog isn't triggering.

What makes the Zevran one really bad is it's just not a non-mention of a romance -- if that were the case, it would be annoying, but not that bad.  But Zevran propositions Hawke -- imagine if Leliana or Alistair were to proposition Hawke if they were romanced (not that they propsition Hawke in any circumstance, but you know what I mean).  It was a really bad feeling seeing my warden's LI trying to get with Hawke.

What is it that Zevran is supposed to say differently if you imported him romanced? I was so disappointed by his enounter. Does he just not hit on you?

There are four lines I konw of so far (going through this is tedious, and the person who brought this to my attention showed me the first three) but I'm fairly sure there is one or two more (maybe not).

I guess I can post them here since this is the spoiler section.

{6089702} Normally I would jump at the chance, but my dear Warden may be a tad put out.

{6089705} The memories are a little too fresh, dear woman. Another time.

{6089720} It is time for me to move on. I've a Warden to return to, after all... it's been far too long.

{6075778} You fell for the Warden.

It's possible the last line is for another cameo, maybe Leliana, (this is a mess to go through) so I can't be sure.  It does look like Isabela should be saying it, but there's very little context so who knows.

Alright, altogether now: SQUEE.

We need a toolset, stat.

As soon as one is released, I'll be right on this if it's not fixed beforehand (and I'm not counting on that).

Honestly, I don't mind fixing this kind of thing -- please BW, don't make us watch our warden's LI cheat for too much longer :(  *grin*  He appears to even be faithful if the warden dies.  Gah, GAH!

Edit: The last line I have quoted there may not be Isabela to Zevran -- it really is hard to tell.  It could be regarding Leliana instead -- it's not clearly assigned.

Just knowing that this dialogue EXISTS makes me happy, though! I was worried that the only difference we'd see between a romanced Zev and a not romanced is that he wouldn't go for it. Him actually mentionning the Warden is so much love. Day made.

MOAR LINES!

{6089093} <desc>Laughs</desc> Ah, no. No. As fun as that would be, I am... committed elsewhere.

{6089096} Another time, perhaps. I am... still in mourning.

Edit: I hope hope HOPE it is either fixed soon, or a toolset is released soon.  This is just...  /cry!  These lines would have been great to see in the game rather than, oh, yeh, what's in there now.

:crying::wub: Zevvvvvvv!

PATCH! I demand this be fixed for mushy gushy Romanced!Zev. I just imported my Warden that romanced Zev for my second playthrough and I thought I'd get some kinda response from Bodhan addressing them, like I did with my Grey Warden Queen, but I got zip. :<

*edit* Actually, this may be in the game.  It's not Zevran's dialog, it's just a rumor.  It's awesome though for King Couslands who stayed with Zevran.  But since I don't know if it's bugged out, I deleted it..

Getting these lines back I hope will have some priority.  If it's caused by the import bug, it's more likely they will be, but if they're caused by dialog bugs, we'll have to wait for the toolset :/

Very stupid question: the DA:O toolset can't be used to correct this flaw? Do we necessarily need a new toolset? Excuse me if this is too dumb to be true, but I never fully understood the toolset thingy :P

We need an updated toolset, or else I'd have fixed them already (or be tearing my hair out trying).  The DAO toolset as is cannot read the DA2 files.

Thanks for the clarification, ejoslin.

Just so I know, what are in your opinion the chances that BioWare releases an improved toolset? Do we keep hoping? :P

My opinion doesn't matter much -- I don't think they have too much of a priority on it, but I'm hoping within the next few months they do release one.

The dialog bugs keep out some wonderful content, as you know from DAO.  Truthfully, I'd prefer they actually fix things like this themselves, but if they don't have the resources, I certainly don't mind making the mods if they provide the tools.

Edit: Someone else is working on fixing the import scripts (so far they have Leliana done I believe).  If this is caused by an import problem, it may be fixed sooner rather than later.  But if it's a dialog bug, then it's more complex without a toolset.

I've bookmarked this thread and I'll follow it very closely.

Anyway, thanks for looking into it and discovering those wonderful lines! You're a must! :D

I'm not sure if it's the same issue. I mean, it could be, and it would make sense. I just realized that I used a save game generator for one of my playthroughs, an Awakening playthrough, and a Witch Hunt playthrough. I wonder if it works for just a straight Origins import. THAT would make a lot of sense. *sigh* About to scrap my most recent playthrough to test this.

No matter what, unless they remove the approval level check, you should not use a save game generator (a program that makes new flags and such). Hopefully the person working on fixing this will fix Zevran as well.

Though I haven't heard of anyone reporting that they're correctly getting this dialog.

I should get to Act 3 tonight. I'll see if I stumble upon the same dialogue bug and then I'll report ;)

Awesome!  I'm having issues enable the console on steam (this is weird -- but ah well, I'll figure it out).  In my previous tests, Zevran was reporting two romance active flags, and I wonder if the second, which was always negative, is the approval level check.  But it would be great if it were working for actual Origins imports.

The savegame generator I was using does not import the approval level.  And WH and Awakening don't import the approval levels.  Oh, I hope it's something like this, that would be fixable without a toolset.

Though I must admit, I envy King Couslands that gossip!

Is it possible she says it to both of them? It seems more like something she'd say to Zevran though, she knows Zevran better and knows how surprising that would be.

It doesn't. I didn't have time to play through Awakenings/any DLC before DA2 came out (I put everything off until the last minute and was only able to get my Cousland done just in time. He put Alistair on the throne and took off with Zevran to parts unknown) and I still got the proposition everyone else is getting.

Bleh, I was hoping the Origins imports were working -- then it would be purely an import issue. Approval should have imported from an Origins save, however; probably stripping out the approval check may still work, but that's beyond my capibilities.  Without a toolset, it's impossible to see if there's dialog bugs on top of this issue.
