Hey guys I am trying to play a melee rogue in Hard difficulty, my question is, 'Should i spend some points in Strength for resilience and knockback resistance? Because at the moment with 14 strength my rogue is getting smashed around, she keep loosing footing in melee combat and also getting knocked back a lot as well ........... making melee combat almost impossible,  as enemies are able to cancel my abilities by hitting me hard during action.

Please help me here.

Thanks

To answer this, let me briefly explain how knockback works.

Whenever you are attacked and take damage, a little formula runs. First, the damage is reduced by any armor or resistances you have. Your Fortitude value is then subtracted from this value and the resulting number compared to you max health.

If Damage - Fortitude =
0-10% then no knockback
11-20% then knockback
20%+ then knockdown

As you've observed, this is a problem for rogues because we usually have both low max health and low fortitude. Putting a few points into Strength can help with smaller hits, but anything hard-hitting will still knockback (or even knockdown). Your best bet is getting an item that prevents knockback such as Etched Ring of the Twins in Act 2 or just looting Carta's Left Hand in Act 3. This will make it so that any hit less than 20% of your max health does nothing (but you'll still get knocked down from really big hits).

Putting a few points in Constitution helps with survival too, since it increases you max health (which helps with knockback) and let's you survive AoE more easily.
