I understand there are 5 different evil tomes and if you destroy all and read the last you get an opportunity to fight an optional boss and  win a blood mage staff.

I screwed up and took the first two instead of destroying them.

Then I found one in a cave in the Wounded Coast and when I read it I got 2 attributes points.

Do any of these evil tomes provide abiltiy/spell points?

I haven't tried all options but I believe you can only ever get 2 attribute points. You can only read one of the books. You're missing out on a bossfight and a staff that drops there, but not on points. From what I can tell anyway.

yep, you can read all but you only get attribute points once. So it makes sense to only read the Grimoire, seeing how you fail the quest if you read one of the evil tomes.
