I know there's a lot of disgruntlement, my own included, about the lack of character interaction in DA2 vs DAO.  However, y'all got some things really right and I just wanted to say thanks!

Topping the list now that I've seen it, is Drunkistair's resolution.  My heart broke a little when I walked into the Hanged Man at the beginning of Act 2 and saw he was still there, three years later.  I went over to click on him as I'd done all through Act 1, and was absolutely thrilled to see Teagan show up to take him home.  Thank you!

Now I can rest easy knowing he has someone helping him get back on his feet.  And having that someone be Teagan is a wonderful touch.  I can't think of any other person I'd like to have responsible for Alistair's care than Bann Teagan, since it can't obviously be the warden due to the limitations of the game.

I've mentioned the other things I was pleased to see in DA2 in other threads: the excellent party banter, the LI or friend consoling Hawke, and removing the risk of getting ninja-rosed by a mis-click while exploring.  But, I felt Drunkistair's resolution deserved it's own post.

Thank you again, from a huge Alistair fan who can now spare Loghain without worrying about her favorite ex-Templar's future.

Lack of character interaction!?

What you mean, like how many people you can click on and talk to?

I thought I could tolerate a drunken, disheveled, dis-honoured Alistair.
I couldn't. I still wanted to punch him in the face. Yay for Teagen though.

The lack of character interaction I believe is in referance to the fact that you can't have a real conversation with you party outside of chosen cut-scenes. While having a conversation anytime you want was nice, after they ran out of things to say it was rather dull. You would click on them and there would be nothing but goodbye to click. I bet they thought my warden was rather silly asking to talk and then saying goodbye right after. LOL

You're a horrible person if you spared Loghain and sent Alistair to be a drunk :(

I keed I keed, I spared Loghain once, mainly for the achievement, but I could never make Alistair a drunk....I just married him with Anora, which may be just as bad now that I think about it......:pinched:

NOTE: I really am kidding about the bad person part, no need to turn this into an Alistair vs. Loghain thread :innocent:

I always inwardly struggled with my decision to keep Logaihn over Al but after seeing him all drunk and bitter in the tavern I got over that real fast. Still I'm glad to see that it was Teagen who came to get him. God knows if it had been my Warden she would not have been as understanding.

I really don't want to turn this thread into another BW bashing session, but for those curious as to what I meant by "more character interaction", you can read my DA2 review here.

As for drunken Alistair... being a huge Alistair lover since day one, it wasn't until recent months that I could even bring myself to consider doing anything other than keeping him around and doing the DR to keep us both alive.  But, the more I got into the lore of the game, the less I liked the idea of an OGB so in my last few playthroughs I've spared Loghain and let him take one for the team.

That was a hard decision because I hated the thought of Alistair being tied to Anora and I hated seeing him turn into a drunk.  Now, I know the drunk route has at least a chance of ending well, thanks to Teagan.  Corny, I know, but that's just me.
