Um, i'm a bit confused. I already have the "Thumbs Up" perk, giving 5% attack speed to isabela and me. Is that what you are talking about? I don't have her friendship maxed out so i must have gotten it before that. My Attack Speed is still fine (74% it says in Attributes). Does the bug only occur when i have 100% friendship? And does the decline show up in Attributes?

I got the bug when her friendship was around 70%.

Hmph I'm going to have to take a look at this when I load up the game. I've swapped her out a number of times haven't noticed a slow down when I attack but i'll have to look. That's a pretty terrible bug.

It happens on all three platforms.

Are you sure ? I haven't had that or the shield bug on the PC version, checked it out when the issues were raised since I hadn't noticed while playing. Curious.

Haven't had the bug, or at least, it wasn't noticeable. I switched her around maybe a few times in Act 1 and 2 but stopped using her entirely in Act 3 except for her companion quests.
THius is on PC and my party pretty much consists of Fenris, my magehawke, varric and anders most of the time.

I didn't notice an attack speed slow down, but for the most part I was spamming spells so that might have helped.

Absolutely positive.

The bug (along with many others, like the Maker's Sigh bug) comes from corrupted saves under particular conditions. So that's why some people sit there going "well it didn't happen to me are you sure it really exists?"

Bioware knows about it, and if it's not in the next patch i'll eat my hat.

Haven't had it happen to me - but then again, I've thus far very rarely used either Isabella or Anders. I would hate it to happen to me on my next playthrough, when I'll probably be making more use of these characters. Sounds like a real game-breaker. Hopefully they come out with a patch soon.

As for the game being buggy - yes, but in my experience, the number and seriousness of bugs at release time for DA2 is average, or slightly below average, for the games I've played.

CIV5, for a recent example, has had such a wealth of bug issues with it that DA2 looks absolutely perfect in comparison. Just to give some perspective - not to excuse the bugs. It is essential that a developer comes up with patches to fix the most serious issues (like this one) very, very soon after release.

wow that video is crazy, I haven't noticed this on mine.

If that were to happen on any of my playthroughs, I wouldn't be happy.

I can understand the frustration, but BioWare won't let something like this go without fixing.

I 100%ed isabela and used her in my party on the ps3 and I wasn't slowed down.

You were probably slowed down by a small amount.

I used Isabela throughout my first playthrough as a mage and never noticed a slow down. When I opened the save game editor, my attack was -10%. It doesn't seem to happen every time you remove her from your party or even every time you go to your house.

If it slows you down so unnoticably, why is everyone complaining that it's gamebreaking?

Because we have to be constantly vigilant so that we never take her along where she is forcibly removed. And since to complete the game to 100% requires at least 3 or so forced removals, that's a lot of speed. In my first mage playthrough where she had high enough friendship to come back with the book, by end game, I was hitting slower than the Origins staves instead of the badass artistic looking DAII staff combat.

So, to prevent it you need to have Isabela in the group when you save, or NOT have Isabela in the group when you save? And does it affect quicksaves? I only use quicksaves, and haven't noticed a slowdown. And I change party composition all the time.

So my isabella is sitting in my house with a quest icon over her head (act 3). This bug ever going to be fixed as well?

Also is there any eta on a patch, or are we screwed?

maybe another month. EA/MS/Sony are taking their time with the testing.

Thx for the reply. So it happens 100% of the time?*

i think it does, as long as you have her friendship and she stays on your group your atk speed goes down,  people also complain about Sebastian, he sucks your spell resistance.

obs: i don't think there is a way to see your atk speed on the game, the way that i manage it was with the program.

****ing play testing. How does it work?

For PC users, there's a band-aid of sorts on the Nexus:

http://www.dragonage...ile.php?id=2299

Be sure to read the description. It isn't a complete fix, more like a work-around to avoid the bug.

Of course, that doesn't help console players any, sorry.
