I want to see the Tevinter imperium really bad, but I have a feeling they will do Orlais next game.

@ OP, Tevinter sounds interesting. I wonder what it would be like to be a Magister in the Imperium, dealing with politics and rivals.

I'd imagine if DA3 takes place in Orlais it'll deal with the fallout from the end of the game in regards to the loss of the Circles and the Order of Templars. I wonder if we'll see Loghain?

The OP gives a plausible theory. Imperial chantry is the only chantry not torn apart because their mages are already free. I also think Qunari vs. Tevinter is a more interesting story than templar vs. mage personally. The Tevinter characters I've seen also haven't been given super annoying accents. Now haveing a few Orlesian characters is fine...but a whole game? Man that would stretch it.

An expansion pack set in Val Royeaux similar to awakening? I could see that but not a whole game. Hawke deals with the Divine same as the warden dealt with the architect....your choices determine state of the mainstream chantry in DA3. I could totally see that.

But let's not think in terms of trilogies...they still have 2 old gods in reserve which means 2 more blights can be turned into games if they want that...the maker...the dread wolf...the old god baby...whatever the hell Sandal is...."the magic coming back"...the templar mage war...Qunari could also seize the opportunity of division in chantry lands for a new invasion...there are too many plot threads to resolve in DA3 alone. I think bioware has too much story here to try to resolve everything in one more game. I could actually see DA2 as the beginning of a Hawke trilogy similar to the mass effect shepard trilogy...bioware is leaning that way...they want voiced protagonists to build stories around.

I'd also like to see some Anderfel characters...German accents...Weisshaupt fortress...maybe the other Dwarven city of Kal Sharok!

Orlais, eh? I can already sense the Orlesian taunts...

I haven't read all the topics on DA2, but I am wonder if the Chantry mess might be resolved in a DA2 expansion? Unless they aren't going to have an expansion.

Not likely, the interviews hint at orlais..aka yet another feudal kingdom, a repacked fereldan with a different accent (Again) rather than a new experience.  Mind you I'll suck up orlais if I get ot do a 'too the pain' on the divine (aka cut off her hands, feet, nose and blind her but leave her able to here every child that vomits in fear at the hideous ruin she has become) [with thanks to the Princess Bride]

Coupe of reasons why I suspect Orlais:

1. The Sandal connection.
2. Morrigan is supposedly in Orlais.
3. Alistair warns Hawke of trouble between Ferelden in Orlais
4. The Warder Hawke meets during the Qunari attack was Orlesian, who had pressing business elsewhere.
5. Leliana is back in Orlais, or at least working on behalf of the High Chantry in Val Royeaux.

add I'll also gut it if I get to play MY WARDEN unvoiced,  adventuring with Morrigan again

Ugh. I don't want a game set in Orlais. The accents already irk me at the best of times.

Orlais should be seen and not heard in DA3. :P

DA3 will take place in Tevinter.

Even if u side with the mages or not at the end game... the end results has little to do with Tevinter as the mages are already free.

This would make the importing easier for DA3 as that the rest of the world has the white divine chantry collapsing and the black divine is still unaffected. (If you side with mages) And if you don't side with mages it still would be the same in Tevinter.

Plus, i think Tevinter would also be a great jumping point for Flemeth and Morrigan as no doubt they will find Elven ruins under Tevinter (The Aluvian question can be addressed)

And if they want to address Quinari or Black City they can use Tevinter as the country...

What do u think?

DA3 in Tevinter DA4 in Par Vollen.. We need to level the playing field so that Tevinter and the Qunari aren't OP smashing everyone =D

Idk.. the guy would be 60 by the time we go to Orlais.. He could have already done his calling.

As for being a magister, that would be very cool but I think its a mage specific title.. So in the interest of fairness we would probably be serving under one if anything.. I actually had a concept regarding this which I made a thread of what I thought would be a cool story for a game in Tevinter

Assuming that BioWare gets the message that repeated copy/paste environments are bad, Orlais and its surrounding areas would seemingly offer a good deal of geographic diversity and story potential too. And I'd imagine not everyone would need speak in a heavy French accent.

You've got Val Royeaux, which is supposed to be the biggest and most amazing city in Thedas. And also seat of the Chantry.

You've got a Warden base at Montsimmard.

You've got the Dales and all the ancient Elven lore there if they wanted to stretch that way, with some Elven ruins in Halamshiral, the former Dalish capital.

If the God Baby has any role to play, you have the conspicuously named Urthemiel Plateau.

To the north you have the Anderfels, but also Kal Sharok- and in DA2 if you notice when you click on the Nexus Golem, I think its says something like "The Stone still lives underneath Orlais." Kal Sharok or something else? Although I think thats probably more Nevarra than Orlais...

And to the west and south you have that ominous sounding terrain like the Sea of Ash, The Sulfur Lakes, the Abyssal Reach, Arl Dumat (yet another Old God reference). That area just sounds like it could be very cool visually, what with geysers, canyons, big mountains and such.
