I was just wondering, since Fenris was my rival in Act 1, can I do anything in Act 2 to change him to my friend or will every action/talk with him (including doing his quest) still cause Rivalry to increase instead of Friendship, just because in Act 1 he became my rival (but not maxxed rival)?
Able to change from Rival to Friend in Act 2?

You can still get friendship points up until you have the final Questioning Beliefs conversation with him (when he reaches max Rivalry). So yes, you should be able to get Friendship with him.
