Hello.
Currently I'm playing a warrior character focused on two handed weapons but I wonder if weapon and shield is a better/more powerful, or simply more interesting, specialization.

I'm thinking about reallocate( using the potion from Black Emporium) the points I spent in the two handed tree because sometimes the combat gameplay does not seem very amazing.
I remember my Warrior Warden from Origins and he was far more powerful in combat, being able to kill entire hordes single handed.

Since warriors cannot use two weapons in DA2 I'd like to find the best way to make my current warrior an "epic fighter."

I believe the Warrior class as a whole comes down to personal preference and enjoyment. With the right specs, any denomination of Warrior can be very effective, so it's up to you to find what you enjoy the most, and go with it.

There are quite a few topics on this subject in this forum, so give those a look, give the guides a look (Anubis, an SnS Warrior, has posted a sword and shield version of my Mach 5 build that looks to be just as effective, in my thread), and most of all, play around with everything to see what suits you. Keep loading a save and using Maker's Sigh potions until you find what compliments the way you like to play the best, I'm sure you'll find something.
