I made a thread a few days ago about Disorient not working for me.
I found out what the problem is. The icons that show what de-buffs targets have are too small to see and are often hidden behind the tagets name. Stagger is about the only icon that can be seen clearly imo, and then only up close. If the target is not close to any of your companions then it's just impossible to see any of them.
Unless you are looking at an individual target that is at fairly close range, you can't see anything clearly enough to know if a target is staggered, brittle or disoriented.
Next time could you show what de-buff and debilitating spell effects a target has locked to the start/end of the name tag rather than having a tiny icon floating behind it. A better contrasted colour would also be nice, the silver used does not stand out enough.
I can set tactics for my companions to use the correct cross class combos, but I myself can't tell who's suffing from what, who's been cursed by what etc etc. When you pause and look at a mob you have no chance of seeing the icons that show status effects, they are always obscured behind the name tags and other enemies and tiny.
I assume if I turned off targets names I'd see the icons clearer, but I'd like to know who I'm fighting to prioritise who to target and when.
I'd suggets keeping all relevant info in the same box, targets class/name, health and status effect next time.
Better buff @ de-buff indicators next time please Bioware
