I have a question about approval in relation to the Architect decision. According to the wiki, siding with the Architect results in either Sigrun and Justice turning on you or losing significant approval, however I've seen different numbers for the amount of approval lost, some of which is none at all. I'm wondering if different levels of approval, such as friendly, etc, results in different levels of approval gained and lost. I could check for myself but that would require starting a new game and if someone knows or would share their experiences with this decison it would be appreciated.

If you have low or hostile approval with Sigrun or Justice, like neutral or below, they will turn on you and attack. If you did their personal quests and have higher approval, they will lose approval, something like -10. Nothing earth shattering.

It happened on my last playthrough, I had nate, Justice, and Sigrun in my party, had been an **** to everyone, and they turned on my. In a long ago playthrough, I had better approval with them and spared the architect, but they did not attack. Sigrun told me I was an idiot, Anders thought it was a mistake, and Justice was indignant, but the approval losses weren't that incredible.

if you have 100 approval for Justice, I heard that you lose no approval from him if persuaded. I'm wondering if that's true and if its the same for Sigrun.

I can't remember who I had on that last play-through (I believe I had at least Oghren and Anders, possibly Nathaniel), and no one turned on me. Anders stating it would be a mistake rings a bell, though.

Personally, I thought siding with The Architect was a good idea. Obviously, he did not want to run the Blights (even when, ironically, he started the Fifth Blight) and had good intentions in "awakening" the darkspawn. I have always felt that no one's personality and actions can be decided by their race, even the darkspawn, so I agreed with sparing him.

That's how I dealt with the situation. On other play-throughs, I'll probably kill him, but on my original play-through, inspired by my own personality, I spared him.

Nathaniel, Oghren, and Velanna support siding with the Architect. Anders always diapproves -5. Justice and Sigrun vary. I was wondering if, at 100 approval, Justice and Sigrun don't disapprove at all. Opinion is inconsequential.

Oghren approves? Uh oh.... Continuity error in my story. Too bad I didn't know that a few months ago.... What does he say?

Errant, he thought that anything that kept darkspawn away from Orzammar could be a good idea.

Damn. I may have to add a few lines. ;)

IIRC, if you kill the architect Oghren disapproves and says something along the lines of this being a wasted opportunity.

If you want I can check his dialogue when I get home.

I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

Oghren does approve when you side with the architect. He also, suprisingly, says he's tired of all the fighting constantly with the darkspawn.

Nate also supports siding with the architect, as does velanna.

Nate actually leaves the Grey Wardens out of annoyance with your choice for killing the Architect.

Is that a level of approval thing, or does it always happen?

I'm honestly not sure, but my epilogue for him told me how he disagreed with the choice of killing the Architect and decided that Grey Warden life wasn't for him, leaving Vigils Keep. His nephew, however, joined the Wardens and eventually became the Commander in Ferelden

Sorry for the delay errant, I have those Oghren quotes for you now :)

When the Architect explains that what happened at Vigil Keep was a misunderstanding:
"Yeah, the sort of 'misunderstanding' that ends with a field of dead bodies. Uh huh, I get those sometimes."

When the Architect says freeing the darkspawn could end the Blights:
"The Wardens ARE supposed to to stop the Blight. We'll be retired and talking about the glory days in no time!"

If you refuse the Architect's deal:
"Looks like you're passing up an interesting opportunity, but who am I to say?" -3 approval

If you accept:
"If playing with their newfound minds keeps the darkspawn away from Orzammar, I'm happy." +2 approval

Thanks! And the delay is no problem at all. I've already posted the affected section unfortunately, but this is something I'll have to think about adjusting. I don't have a problem with him appearing to have changed his mind, but I do have to explain it. This is very helpful!

Yeah in my last playthough of Awakenings I had to kill Justice when I spared the Architect (first time I had taken on that final mission), I had fairly good approval from him but it wasn't high enough, I could certainly see why he turned on me for that given his nature. Didn't realise Oghren would approval, so that's some interesting new info
