I put it in your other thread about archers but after a bunch of respecs I settled on a build with 0 points in either weapon tree, dumping everything into the specialization trees (assassin and duelist).
I was technically an archer, I used a bow 90% of the time but you can switch out to dual daggers with no penalty. Unlike investing in either archery/dual wielding or mixing both, you get 100% of the benefit of both Assassin and Duelist using any weapon.

I can't imagine a build without DW or archery talents performing on par. Backstab is pretty worthless past early game, but Twin Fangs is second only to Assassinate in terms of burst, and the upgrades of both Merciless Strike and Lacerate are great on bosses.

Take a high level rogue and respec into assassin duelist sometime, you wont have to imagine.
Assassinate and vendetta give you all the burst you could ever need, and gives you the ability to cross class on both brittle and staggered. 100% attack and 100% crit vs bosses is very handy as well. Act 3 was an absolute breeze.
copypasting from the other thread
My level 20 bow rogue ended the game with
49 dex and 70+ cunning with equip bonuses
100% base crit chance
250% bonus crit damge
100% attack vs everything including bosses
80% dodge vs everything including bosses
150 listed dps with bows, 200 listed with dual daggers (actual damage was ~800-1100 per shot with bows, ~500 per hit with daggers)

I tried it out for a bit, maxing out Duelist and Assassin with a few points elsewhere for utility. It's better than I expected, but I'm not convinced it outperforms dagger spec. Vendetta is great, to be sure, and the defense and attack bonuses are also pretty nice. Throw the Gauntlet is mediocre at best, however. The enemies you actually care to use it on, i.e. bosses, are the same ones you don't want attacking you. You high defense doesn't help against spells and abilities, so you end up spending a lot more time eating dirt, and less time attacking. Even if you've got knockdown immunity, you still sacrifice the 20% bonus damage from Blindsided.
Sustained damage also suffers. As powerful as Vendetta is, it doesn't make up for missing out on Twin Fangs, Lacerate, Merciless Strikes, and the 25% critical damage from Shadow.
Archery might be a different story, at least on boss fights where their superior AoE doesn't help. Still, you'd have to ignore Throw the Gauntlet if you want use those arrows.
I could see taking Duelist over Shadow in the expansions, at least, with enough levels to get all the essentials from both specializations and the dual wield tree besides.

Yes, I ignored throw the gauntlet (no upgrades) also you don't need the duration boost on pinpoint as you already have near if not 100% base crit, so that saves 3 points.
Definitely don't pass up on blindside, I didn't say use only assassin/duel just primarily.
I had no problem at all with drawing aggro, I was almost never knocked down or disabled but perhaps that was because of the bow over daggers decision. Anything I shot at died almost instantly and I was at range so there was no proximity aggro.

I'd definitely keep Blindside if I were to use the build for serious purposes. My point was that Throw the Gauntlet sacrifices the bonus, but if you're not using it anyway that's fine.
I never saw much point to the threat management abilities for the rogue either, you can slap Taunt and Battle Synergy on your tank and not have to worry about Evade or Inconspicuous or whatever.
