I made a reave specialist and taught him sacfricicial frenzy.  It says under te ability section that it only consumes 20 healt, but whenever I use it it takes off about half my health bar!  Ive used this before with another character but it didnt comsume NEARLY as much health.  Has this hapened to anyone else.  I'm playing on the PS3.

I had a similar problem earlier. I had a Ring of Transitional Power with an ability I don't understand, something like "Does 100% of base attack damage to enemies that attack in melee". Whenever I used sacrificial frenzy I'd take around 170 points of damage (usually resulting in death). It also damaged Merrill when she was in "blood magic" mode. My problems went away when I sold the ring. Don't know if this helps, but it is all I can think of.

Sacrificial Frenzy and other self-damaging skills are all you attacking yourself, so if you have +% damage buffs (Reaver's own passive) or damage reflection, you'll hit yourself freakishly hard.

I doubt that's the case as I regularly stack every buff imaginable on my warrior (Cleave, Berserk, Reaver passive, Mighty Offense potion, Might sustain, Assail, multiple Adrenalines, you name it) and still spam Sacrificial Frenzy as part of the buff cocktail while barely noticing its health decrease.  I sold the weird accessory described in another post as soon as I got it without ever using it, so maybe that's the cause.

It was indeed the Ring of Transitional power that was doing it. Thanks for the info

Just came across this thread. I was having a problem with Merrill when using Blood of the First. Every time I used a targeted spell (as opposed to a sustainable) that targets someone, I'd get interrupted and the spell wouldn't fire. A BW person asked if I had the ring of transitional power equipped, and indeed I did. Moment I unequipped it, problem was solved. Don't understand what that ring is meant to do.
