I want a story where the character you play has a personal reason to really care about the events.
Next story - what would you like?

I want a story where you play as a Mercenary hired by someone of importance to locate Hawke and the Warden (if your Warden died in Origins you look for the Orlesian one in Awakening).
In essence the back story could not only be on background lore like DA2 but it could also have different origins as to why you the mercenary would look for them.
Like maybe your friend was Templar/Mage and got killed by the uprising in a different Circle, maybe he had family caught in the crossfire, maybe he just wants the fame and glory.

For DA3 I would want to play a Seeker.
The story would start off where DA2 ended, Cassandra(Warrior, Sword and Sheild type and LI) and Leliandra(Rouge, Dual Daggers, non LI) are searching for Hawke and the Warden. The story would center around a civil war in Orlais(some want to go and retake Ferelden, the Empress and others do not), and a incoming invasion from the Tevinter magisters(since the chantry is weakening right now). I would love to see Divine Justine as the Antongonist. I think Feynreil should return as a companion(as a tevinter mage, LI), and I would love it if Charade Amell(Rogue, Archer, LI) returned as well. I also don't think the series should end on the third. So I would want some kind of teaser to a fourth, maybe show Flemeth finding an old god, possibly creating another Blight.

I want the story to not be in Kirkwall, and to mention Kirkwall as little as possible.

Feynreil as a companion wont happen because he can be possesed or made tranquill...
Ye Kirkwall is done, it felt like a played the whole game in Denerim... More areas please! no mage hunting in sewers for 20 hours. but im still on my third playtrough so they must have done something right...

A new hero, a new place, a couple of tie-ins to the existing ones, but not enough so that it cannot stand as its own story to the point that it is undeserving of the number 3 in the title, having its own, specific Dragon Age name.
I still think DA2 should have been named Dragon Age: Kirkwall or Hawke or Nobility instead as its current name as a sequel to DAO (which would mean a numeral sequel would be DAO2) seems inappropriate due to the lack of sequel reliance.

No more Hawke. Give me a soldier or noble in the war between the Chantry and the Circle and let me work towards ending it. Maybe throw in the God Baby, some Warden and Morrigan for good measure. Oh yeah... Sandal. Don't forget the Sandal. But you can keep the Call Of Dragon Age: Kirkwall at War idea 2 tried to sell. Not interested.

I suppose it's mandatory to first say that I did in fact quite like the story in DA2. I'm about the least politically inclined person I know of, as I have no interest in telling people how or what to do or in general deal with their issues and prejudice. As a result, anything that goes more deeply into politics in games, movies, series or books gets largely ignored by me. So it was a pleasant surprise that DA2 found a way to make me care. Far more than DAO did, where the whole "who gets to be the king" theme, Landsmeet and Arls (don't even know what an Arl is, then again I'm not English) and whatnot were just completely irrelevant to me. Some people like to feel superior over a difference like that, I couldn't care less.
What I can say, is that even though DA2 succeeded surprisingly well with the main story, I have to remain honest to my opinion in that I want an EPIC story. Always did, likely always will. So without knowing what BW has in mind or how this would even fit with their lore etc, this is what I would want from DA3, even though I know there would be issues with its so far realistic world design where the whole POINT is that you don't get all the answers, and there are no absolutes or finalities, or "happily ever afters".
I want something damn big to go down, below the earth's surface. Something incredible to be revealed about the true cause for the darkspawn and the blight, the nature of the fade and all. I want a war not unlike in the Lord of the Rings, where the player character is not dealing some random city or country, but with ALL the world. All races, all differences between the templars and mages, Dalish and others, Qunari and non-Qunari... all these issues would be trivial in the face of a darkness that would devour all unless destroyed. I want a story that will span from huge deserts to hostile snowy mountains, to deep jungles, to vast open seas, to the most glorious cities of Orlais, to the exotic lands and culture of the Qunari, to the most ancient Dwarven cities and inventions, to a lost great city of the true original Elves where you would discover whether they truly were immortal and as powerful as was claimed. I want such a story of wonder, magic and adventure that I can't even go to sleep for being so captured by it.
And at the end of it all, I want to discover something remarkable and surprising, a nice plot twist that'll blow my mind with how much it makes sense in the light of all that's happened, yet would come completely by surprise. With a lot of epilogue text depending on the decisions I made, about where the romances led, etc.

Very difficult to choose. As fascinating as it would be to play in Orlais as a traveling bard or a noble, I'm more interested in seeing how the giant war across Thedas turns out.

id like to see more politics involved in DA3.
maybe the story can start with you as a mercenary/caravan guard hired by bodahn. and you travel him with him and sandal at the beginning instead of them travelling with your PC. would be a nice change. then stuff happens and sandal says "I GIVE YOU ENCHANTMENT!" and kills half of the chantry army, in orlais. you go into hiding and sandal forces you to eat a lyrium idol, giving you god like powers. you then decide who to side with.

I don't want to be involved in politics at all!
No rebellions or civil uprisings... i want to get back to saving the world from something that threatens everyone regardless of social standing.
I want to be a grey warden again and working behind the scenes to sort out the darkspawn and Flemeth.
When i bumped into grey wardens in Kirkwall, the fact that i couldn't go with them or know what they were upto annoyed the buggery out of me...
I would have started chewing down on a darkspawn and left Kirkwall to the Qunari in a flash if i would become a grey warden and go and do something actually useful.

Orlais, home of the chantry and Divine. A massive city in Val Royeaux. Also under Orlais is Kal Sharok the only other remaining Dwarven city. The Dales is south of Val Royeaux and this particularly city has the biggest elven alienage of them all.
All Dalish clan meeting near their last elven homeland and elven revolt at the same time + mages + templars + the divines secret army of seekers + dwarven Kal Sharok/Orzammar civil war and rebellious Orlesian Noble starting a war with Ferelden to gain lost "provinces". Nevarra backing Ferelden up against Orlais. Throw in the Maker/Fen'harel/Flemeth and OGB if thats has happened in your DA:O and you have the recipe for an awesome third game.
This is only a part of the south of thedas too! In the North and other parts. Qunari v Tevinter, mages flocking to the Imperium making them stronger and stronger, invading Nevarra and free marches, Qunari doing the same. Epic!

Hard to cover all the possible wars in just one game xD but yes a realy big war that unleash hell on Thedas.. the news in DA2 about the upcoming (yes it will happen now that they have mentioned it) Ferelden/Orlais war surprised me. I hope this conflict will escalate and crush Orlais and their self-important nobles.. Like a massive Alienage uprising and Navarra support.

I want another "smaller" story. There is no reason to save the world all the time. I want something personal again, it's much cooler and hasn't been done so many times.
Smaller stories are more personal. Sure I want to help people along the way, but something more personal is much more satisfying. Like: trying to find a group of people to defend your village from a looming threat. The war could rage on in the background and the hero could join the battles now and then, but it would have clear goal that pushed you forward. I would like a story like that.

Tevinter and the Mages against Orlais (seat of the Divine) and the Chantry/Templar. This way we get to see two new homelands that have been referenced with frequency and hopefully with more development time they can really flesh out the 1000 year old conflict between mages and templar.
Also, throw in a second threesome between myself, Isabela and Leliana so I can wrap up my character's romances from the past two games.

The working title for the game was "Dragon Age: Exodus", actually. You can see it while playing around in the console debug menus.

It's enough with one "smaller" story. Because they are limited, as the one in DA2. Run in Kirkwall and run through the same dungeon 500 times. Wiii a lot of fun...not.
