My thoughts were "stop trying to convert my elf"! He and Ander's are pretty funny together though and Avaline too.

I don't mind his character, but I don't think I will be romancing him until I can get a little more out of it. :? At this point, he just isnt my cup of tea.

*shrugs* I disagree. I was glad to see something else besides broody and mildly annoyed from Fenris.

I also like his banter with Merrill about how the Divines are named, "How do you think we got four Divines named Hortensia?"

Edited because the new page needs a picture:

I'll be interested to see more of Sebastian in DLC. Basically my biggest criticism of the character is that we didn't see enough of him, so... yeah.

As for companion dialogues... My favorites are the one where he's ignoring Anders and the one where Varric asks him what's wrong with him.

Just got a funny banter between Sebastian and Varric. Varric was complimenting Sebastian on his armor, much to Sebastian's disbelief that anyone would ever say anything nice about him. And the punchline?

Varric: "Yeah, it makes you look like a lacquered pilot whale."

So happy to hear this! Image IPB I just hope that he has a more involved romance in the future.

As an atheist, I must admit that I love the way Sebastian's religious faith was depicted. Unlike so many other fictional religious characters, hearing him discuss his faith wasn't the least bit irritating or annoying. In fact, I found his conversations with other party members rather compelling, and I admired his ability to proselytize without being militant or "preachy" about it.

His devotion comes across as genuine and persistent without also being a nuisance and point of contention. The writers (and the voice actor) achieved a uncommonly remarkable balance in this regard, and they deserve no small amount of my respect for doing so.

I really have nothing to add to this, but I just wanted to thank you for expressing so eloquently the way I feel about him! I'm also an atheist, but really appreciated his type of faith and devotion...especially considering the huge mess between the mages and the Templars. He's really an example of the best the Chantry has to offer.

I like it because in those time I want to start up a conversation with him about why the Chantry is all sorts of wrong for him and Starkhaven looks like a pretty fun place to visit.  I know it raises rivalry with him everytime I go that path but one day... one day he will understand!

It is for his own  good after all and in our Hawke best interest

Yes because Hawke will have none of that chaste union!  chaste union... pfff

I don't mind Sebastian trying to connect to the others on a religious level like what he does with Fenris because I think it make sense.  His whole life is the chantry  (at the moment) and that is how he can relate to people.  Also since the talks with him a little more limited than other characters its only really through his banters that we get to know about him.

That said I have a feeling I will like him more in a Rawwww Starkhaven Power than as a choir boy.

So if they do end up creating a new DLC with more Sebastian, how do we imagine BW would handle this, since not necessarily everyone will have downloaded The Exiled Prince? Would it be an expansion upon that DLC? Would it include TEP? It'd be pretty odd if you played DA2 without Sebastian, then downloaded the DLC afterwards and suddenly Sebastian shows up outside the Kirkwall walls with an army, determined to punish you and your precious Anders, for example...

If the romance can be carried over in a dlc I would romance him all the way! I would be split between making him go back to his princely ways or sticking with priesthood...what to choose :pinched:

That's why I assume he'd be part of an expansion, so he could be introduced to those who didn't have the DLC:

I think he'll be in DA3 and not necessarily a DLC. I could see him showing up in Orlais (or whatever country the next game is set in) to raise political support and an army. Remember, at the end of the game, he still hasn't got much support and Goran still sits on the Starkhaven throne. He won't be able to just march in alone and take it back.

You know as a guy... I actually like Sebastian( and if were discussing it... I rather dislike Anders( though that's mostly because of how he treats Merrill and his endgame theatrics)...). I'm not exactly pro chantry either...though I will admit that I like the rival path with Seb because that way he can retake Starkhaven while I take Kirkwall( in my templar support playthroughs) as Viscount.

Does he actually come out & say he's going to take back SH?  How does that work?  I haven't been able to rival him yet, he's too similar to my characters.  Maybe with my dude Hawke.  I figure either way, he'll go take back SH after the chantry incident.

Well, no but when he leaves the party because you decide to spare Anders after his theatrics in Act 3... he apparently threatens you with a line that im gonna paraphrase as him saying "I'm going back to Starkhaven to raise up an army to unleash hell on you and Kirkwall". Which I personally understand since the grand cleric is in the chantry at the time of the explosion( this is mostly the reason why I always decide to kill him other than when I'm not playing a mage... i know for a fact I'm getting Bethany back n she can heal just as well at that point in the game).

he'll still make that threat even if  you friendmanced him, so I guess no matter what, all bets are off after the Chantry is gone.

I wonder how they would introduce him in a scenario like that - it'd make the most sense to just include The Exiled Prince and then build further on that, no? I could definitely see him ending up in Orlais or wherever in DA3. And I'd looove to go to Orlais! I suppose we'll see what happens. I hope we get more content than for example Kaidan's cameo in ME2!

They say his story wasn't over ... so i guess we'll get an expension in the like of awakening... tought i wouldn't mind something in the scope of Mask of the Betrayer(NWN2). So our Hawke get to help him back get Starkhaven. If our Hawke decided to spare Anders then we get to make another Hawke or someone else entirely. Kinda like what they plan to do if our Shepard dies in ME2 ye play aniother shepard just not yer shepard.

Sebastian's banter with other party members actually made me appreciate them more. Fenris, for instance, showed that there is a very different side to him.

I loved his little dialogues with Fenris. Playing through as a mage the first time, I had a hard time liking him, but some of his conversations with Sebastian put a rare sympathetic smile on my face.

And to show how good a sport Sebastian is, I quite liked his answer:

"Now THAT is what I expected."

He is just a pleasant fellow.  His dialog with Isabella was very enjoyable.  Also, he's the voice of Maud'Dib, so there's that.

Here's my crap:

Since it is only now that I am going to play the Exiled prince on my third character I kinda got curious as to what's the outcome if my PC had a romance relationship with him. There's one line that Sebastian said that made me want to draw him in a romantic way.

"I offer you no less than a Prince..."
