I support Starkhaven DLC. But I support anything Sebastian related even moar.

And as it seems that my Kaidan banner seems to be coming true (YESSSS!!!!), I may be able to switch things up myself, soon.

Right now they're doing the super hype for ME3, how long did it take before they released... wait... what was the first DLC released for DAO? It wasn't Awakenings... right? Shale and Warden's Keep came out with DAO... *is drawing a blank*

Am I the only Sebastian fan that actually LIKES Anders? I am holding off on my Sebastian romance playthrough simply because I can't bear the thought of killing him. It's stupid that I'm this attached to a character, especially when all the fic that's poured out of my brain has been Sebastian related.

Anders is horribly broken, and it's a trainwreck. I still love him, though.

i just got back from a night out with the girls and you know what i was thinking? there really ought to be a fanfic about alcohol indulgences and seb/f!hawke because really, who doesn't do that? i mean a few people sure but like i think that it would be a great prompt for possibilities...

edit: @ lywinis - no actually i like all three of them. them being seb, anders and fenris, so yeah but i also think i am one of the few campers in all three little fan clubs.

what can i say? i dont descriminate against sexy.

Through a favorable marriage, one can make valuable connections, improve one's social standing, and secure financial stability for oneself and one's family. Love is not necessary for a successful marriage but is nonetheless desirable, as it makes the union stronger. The Chantry permits annulments but not outright divorce.

This sheds some interesting light on the subject. If the celibacy remark was retconned by DA2, though, I wouldn't be surprised.

I also wouldn't be surprised if the issue of celibacy wasn't addressed by one of the Divine. The Bible has caused countless schisms and fractures in Christianity, so why wouldn't Andrastians be the same? (We've already seen evidence of schism with the Black Divine, after all.)

I played a little bit with this concept in Obeisance, when a character talks about celibacy in the context that it was considered a little more oomph to your vows if you relegated yourself to a life of chastity.

I like talking religion and religious reforms. I'm a history buff.

That's exactly the sort of quote that's causing confusion, though. If sex isn't forbidden, who cares what he does, besides Sebastian and Andraste the perv. If there wasn't celibacy involved, why is he making such a big deal about it? That's what's bothering me about this whole thing.

ETA: I realized I haven't been as eloquent as I would like about this. Obviously Sebastian feels that his vows include abstaining from sex and earthly relationships. This causes conflict with Hawke, whom Sebastian sees as a good woman, and someone he could be happy with. Does he feel that this happiness makes his vow to serve only Andraste invalid? Does it feel to him like he's breaking his vows? 

Maybe the only one holding Sebastian back is Sebastian. <_<

edit: Gah. Lywinis was too quick for me! So yeah, maybe Seb's issues are not so much with the Chantry itself than what he thinks he should be?
