Any ideas where a girl could find a beta for a story? I've got one chapter done, and a few more in outlines... It's Sebastian related, so any one from here would be awesome to the max.

This brings up a question I've had... considering that Anders, Fenris, and Sebastian openly speak out against blood magic and mages at some points in their dialogue -- do they ever react or know that your Hawke is a blood mage if you select that path? I know that only Wynne made mention of it once in Origins, was just curious if they made it more widely known by all the companions in DA2.

Not that I have seen in my current playthrough, and it was the first path I took, plus I use the spells pretty regularly. Haven't had Merrill comment either.

No, no one ever comments on it.  I prefer to think of it as a blood mage Hawke being intelligent and subtle instead of everyone else being pants-crappingly oblivious.  It hurts my brain less that way <_<

Sebastian seems a bit more... selfish? He doesn't want to deal with the politics because what, it'll show him how ugly some folks can truly be? Things aren't always so great Seb... life ain't just a party or saintly worship, ya know? Least, that's what I think. XD

Yeah, I get that a bit. But remember, you have to repeatedly push Alistair into it in order for him to accept it. It takes him quite a while to stop moaning about it too.

RE: Blood magic. Nobody notices if you're a blood mage. I think it's canon that Hawke is not, since it's impossible to no one to see it going on but it's just not acknowledged at all and someone said Carver makes a comment about Hawke not being a blood mage.

Thinking Awakening!Anders, you see. I think that Anders would definitely have liked Sebastian if Justice had never gotten involved. Anders was a womanizer, Sebastian was a (reformed) womanizer, they'd have a lot in common, and the fact that Sebastian never tries to preach might have actually drawn Anders back into the faith at some point. I remember getting a little extra dialog with Anders in 'Awakening' for making him a bloodmage. It was one of the escape talks and I'd say, "But you ARE a blood mage," and he'd reply, "well, NOW I am." It's a shame that they didn't do anything like that in DA2.

But then, I've never been able to pass up being a force mage/healer, so I suppose it works out well.

@Aris Ravenstar: That "Shove your plight" line is one of my favorites in the entire game. Man, I love Carver.

Yeah, that one too! I don't care what people say, I love Carver -- I prefer him to Bethany actually. xD

As for the blood mage thing... that kinda sucks, especially since the option is there to be a blood mage. o_o Ah well, I never plan on going that route I was just curious if any of the party ever mentioned it if you were one.

Because he asks Elthina to rejoin the Chantry at some point and she refuses him. Doesn't that mean Sebastian has to decide whether to go back or not?

So, technically he's not bound by any vows while he's helping Hawke and gathering support.

Sorry. Late response is late, but if you head up the steps and enter the chantry after Sebastian's "Murder" scene at the chanter's board, you can talk to Elthina about your plans to help him. She says that he was affirmed nearly a decade ago, and had just recently been vested as a brother when they heard the news about his family. It would make sense that his short story is the transition to him being vested, which means that in all likelihood, his vows were recent ones.

Also: if this is the Maquaii from deviantART, you owe it to the world to paint us a Sebastian. Really. I'm a fan of your Atton Rand art from way back. ♥

It depends on how the vows are worded. You could break your vow against violence and keep the one against sex if they are two different vows. I think lywinis was right. It's Sebastian stopping Sebastian, not actual vows or Chantry law.

Technically, he's not bound by any vows, I don't think.  But "technically" never mattered much to Sebastian or Elthina.  She rejects him because she thinks he needs more time to think through his decisions, not because he broke his prior vows.  He really is his own worst enemy sometimes.
