Honestly, I didn't really see it as Varric disliking Sebastian, but poking fun at him to try and get a rise out of him. The only hostility there is when Sebastian tries to touch Bianca.

Someone please tell me I'm not the only person who took in all the facts, observed that Sebastian's romance was...lacking, compared to the others; that it doesn't start until later, has limited interaction, no physical contact to speak of, not even an achievment...and still totally wanted to go for it.

He is just that adorable.

Oh, yes, please Bioware! Anything to hear that sweet brogue again...turns me to butter. Here's hoping DLC will be more...prominent. Not just a series of side quests with little impact.

That's my favorite thing for M to stand for! I actually find myself starving for fanstuff, including fiction, which is...very rare for me. The fact that Sebastian is not as popular as I figured he'd be (I knew the religious thing would deter some people, but...well, dang) has me looking all the more. So sure, you've got yourself a follower.

was wondering if any of you talented people could do a MEME similar to this one because I thought it was super cute, only with Seb, and possibly f!Hawke, though just Seb would be wonderful too. And the panels don't have to overlap or interact with each other either.

Heh, I saw an F!Hawke/Isabela version of that...or some similar meme. That would be perfect for Sebastian, though. From what little we got, I loved how embarrassed he got. If only there was a little more, would have loved to watch him squirm.

Yes. This. In fact I romanced Sebastian my very first playthru and as unsatisfied as I was, when I went to play the 2nd time, I had every intention of going with Fenris, then ended up with Seb again.

I will say, that as much as I complain that things are unfinished/unsatisfying as they stand, I really am grateful to have as much as we do. It's still romantic involvement, which I never dreamed would be possible when he was first announced. Heh, they could have made him hands-off to the point that there is no flirting, or culmination thereof, or worse; they could have had him go the way of Aveline, and find someone else.

And I've been toying with the idea of writing some Sebastian fanfic myself. I have all manner of plot bunnies hopping around in my head, but I'm not sure if my holdup is in the fact that I haven't written anything in a really long time or maybe it's the fact that we know things aren't finished with Sebastian (canonically) yet.  (Or, it could simply be that I have a really dirty mind, so I know things will get very, very naughty, eventually, and I'm just not sure that I want to put Sebastian through that.) We'll see, I suppose, but I'd never have the guts to link any of it here, seeing as the writers lurk these forums, and the thought of anything I've written being stumbled upon is horrifying.

When he was first announced, I laughed at those who even entertained the idea of him being romanceable. He was DLC, I thought, no DLC character was ever even mildly interested in the PC. And the mention of him being a brother initially cinched it for me. There was just no way. And yet, I saw more people speculating, and I learned more...I think at first I didn't want to care much for him because I was so sure I would only be disappointed. But when it was discovered otherwise, I got very excited.

...Learning that he was not a full fledged one, then, was a bit heartbreaking. Not really surprising, all things considered, but still a bit disappointing. But the way I look at it now...it's sort of like how some NPCs in Origins could express affection for your PC (goodness knows after playing some of the origins stories...I didn't even want to pursue the romances, sap that I am) or perhaps--since a polotical arrangment is possible with a rivalmance--the marriage to Anora to a male Human Noble. Obviously not a complete romance compared to Alistair/Leliana/Zevran/Morrigan, you just get a few sweet/funny words...but it's a nice alternative if you have a character that doesn't match well with those four, or if you're...just not interested. So I just think of it like that and it makes a little more sense to me.

It's funny, because I was prepared to chose either Anders or Fenris--I really do like both--but then Sebastian comes around and I have no issue of missing out. Something just clicked. This happened to me in Mass Effect, oddly enough, just thinking of which guy I like slightly more than the other and then--whoah, who's this guy with this sexy voice? You mean I can have him? Forget the others! And interestingly enough, both ended with unfulling modest romances. Just my taste in men, I guess.

Huh, I've never thought of Sebastian being like the Anora option in DAO, but it does make sense now that you mention it! I'm just hoping that they take this one with Seb a little further than what they did with her, although Anora makes it clear it's only political where as Sebastian obviously has feelings invested with Hawke.
