I'm honestly more interested in what Sebastian does for himself in the future as opposed to how he deals specifically with Hawke.  Again, I personally prefer rivalry!Sebastian, but either way after the endgame of DA2, there's no way he can just sit by the sidelines.  Obviously if you spare Anders, he's furious; not sure how likely he is to follow through on that promise of an army, though, since it's likely he could've just said it in the heat of the moment.

Well, it's not like Anders was a romance in Awakening...just the closest possible thing to one in it XD

And ditto on not liking the idea of starting over in DA3, with a new hero. I'd settle for a line or two referencing the choice if a Hawke that "romanced" Sebastian is imported to it.

And it would, of course, be interesting to see how he handles the situation after the main game is done, but...you can't have DAII DLC without Hawke (not unless you want..."Sebastian's Song" or something )!  Maybe Hawke's influences could determine what he chooses to do or how he rules...and then, of course, a Lady Hawke would have the option of sticking around...but I'm cautiously optimistic at this point.

No idea what will happen to him...but something needs to. Poor guy gets thrown about in life; family doesn't want him, so he goes to the Chantry. He almost becomes a brother, and, well...Anders happens. Really would like some closure on the whole situation.

Oh, and while I haven't done the rivalmance myself, if it helps...when you encounter Allure, saying "Don't Listen!" gets a few rivalry points...and telling off Flora, of course.

I'm ridiculousy sentimental and keep everything that can be construed as personal. I'm not, and will never be a warrior, but I have the Amell family shield. And Sebastian always gets the Vael locket you find on the flint company mercs even though it really isn't the best piece of equipment.

And Isabela always keeps her daggers from the beginning, even though they're pretty much crap from the offset. I swear, they need to make these things level as we go.

Do I like Anders despite favoring Sebastian? Sure, plenty. Do I object do Anders getting slapped/kicked around? Not even a little.

That's right, Gerard Butler's Scottish, right? Very nice. Their faces in the very last panel are hilarious.

Also, I was not aware of an exploit. I like the Grand Cleric, but being a d-bag, especially around Sebastian, hurts my soul. This could be vital information.

Cool, thanks for the link.  That's actually incredibly noble of Seb to temporarily put his grief and his hatred of Anders' particular brand of apostate aside in order ot help the mages.  He's such a dear 

 Man, I wish I could've held on to both Seb and Anders.  And I love the comic--Maker knows Anders needs a good kick from time to time, either from Seb or Hawke.  Maybe it'd help knock the crazy out of him.

Hmmm.... I have made a bit of a ruthless Hawke who I think might be good for rivaling Sebastian. Hope I can do it without feeling like a complete bastard. Would rather go for getting things done and don't like to dawdle. She has no warfm feeling for the chantry, not that she is against it. More that she thinks that there are more important things out there to deal with. And she probably feels that he should get a move on with retaking his lands, it has taken long enough as it is. Think that is how I'll play her, so far it's only Act 1 so it's some time left. Any good ideas from people who has already rivalmanced Sebastian? =)

edit: I saw the good point on how to get rivalry points on the previous page. I mean more in type of roleplaying. And I think Sebastian will return as a companion in the future. Or I very much hope so    =)

Well yes   =)   I want the real romance also   =)  and very much in DA3. But if I import a game from DA2 he should stay with Hawke and perhaps if he's single he could be available for the main in DA3. I'm sort of hoping of being able to continue with my Hawke but that's for another tread I guess   =)

Is there any guides about rivalmancing him? I was trying and somehow still ended up with friendship. When I spoke to him after the Repentance quest I tried telling him to take back Starkhaven and then never got the flirt line.

There's couple quest where you get 10-20 disaproval points with him. here's some that I can remember from top of my head:

Night terrors: While he's in a party, agree to enter fade +10 rivalry, Also pick " I can't do that' when talking about making Fanryel a tranquil. +10 rialry ( +20 total, just for doing the quest)
Dissent: Let Anders kill Ella +10 rivalry ( or 15, don't remember)
Mirror Image: letting Merril have the Arulen'holn, +5 rivalry.
To catch a thief: Let Isabella keep the book, +5 rivalry ( oddly, it gives Aveline +10 friendship)
Also, choosing dirrect/rude option with Elthina, during his personal quest grants at least +5 rivalry. Not sure about any other times.
On any of his personal quests, convincing him to retake his throne, grants about 15 rivarly each. During 1st Questioning Beleives, saying " You must go back to Starkhaven" Gives you 10/15 rivalry.

To Initate Rivalmance however, you must flirt with him after Repentance. It grants you 10 friendship with him. If you have Starkhaven Bow, gift it to him, and choose dirrect answer, which will grant him 10 rivalry, but you'll be in romance with him. If you're dirrect with him post Repentance conversation, the flirt option doesn't trigger, thus you can't initiate romance with him. So you gotta be nice to him, the n you can push him towards his throne all you want afterwards.

That would just be... weird. Being able to sex Zevran's pants off him in DA2 was amusing but very in character (for the unromanced Zevran at least.) Seb as a future LI for someone other than Hawke? Gah, no.
