That would be nice. I mean, why not, Sebastian makes his decision about retaking Starkhaven/staying with the Chantry based on Hawke's attitude towards him, you'd think she could convince him to not stab Rival!Anders repeatedly. Maybe once he cools down a bit, he's still be angry that Elthina is dead, but a bit more forgiving.

Poor Anders, the guy never makes it out alive in 90% of my playthroughs, Sebastian shoots me his baby blues and suddenly the murder knife in stuck in Anders' back.

I'm going to run a playthru with Anders Rival-mance (now that those issues are supposed to be fixed), but it's still up in the air whether or not I'll be giving Anders the knife. I've only ever kept him alive once, with my f!Hawke who friend-manced him (m!Hawke that romanced him killed him anyway, as did all my other Hawkes), and the missing Sebastian was just totally not worth what we get from Anders at the Gallows. I blame the fact that I saw Fenris's kiss and his epic "Nothing will keep me from you" first.

Yeah the 1.03 patch fixes Rivalry Anders, it really makes the game much better for me because i like the idea of Anders redeeming himself, infact i like how he realizes its Vengeance inside of him, he gives Merrill a really hard time, but he really should be looking after himsel.

It's gonna interesting how Sebastian will grow from DA2's ending, the guy is religious but at the same time young and full of emotions, i'd love to see the option/chance of him actually forgiving Anders and helping him redeem him.

I'd personally love that, i know he will nomatter what get his army from Starkhaven, but maybe in future DLC?

I thought that, according to the Chant, the Maker turned his back on humanity when the Tevinter magisters set foot in the Black City? Andraste was supposed to be a second chance, and when she was killed, the Maker put his hands up, backed away and went "Not worth it. Sorry guys, I'm out."

Mind you, I think the Chantry is a manipulative entity much like the Roman Catholic Church in medieval Europe, banking on the ignorance of the common man to spread its doctrine. I see so many corrolaries between the two it's hard not to see it like that. Yes, the Chantry has good people within its ranks, but so does any organization. Nothing is pure black and white, not anywhere.

Look at Cullen. A good man, pushed to his extremes by blood mages, it's no wonder he doesn't consider mages people in DA2. That your party polarizes around you in act 3 of the game makes me wonder what would happen if you spared Anders, even for the reasons that Celeste gives in Obeisance. How would visiting Starkhaven in DLC when you did that play out?

Me too. He's not the typical "goody goody" character that I usually end up hating, he's just a nice guy with a wild past who is wrestling emotions over choosing his faith or his duty.

I'm doing a Rivalmance run with him right now (have to get through Act 1 without him, sigh), and I'm dreading it, because a lot of instances where you get rivalry with him you have to be outright mean (killing Ella, killing Javaris, letting Varnell kill the Qunari and then burn their bodies, etc). Sebastian's such an understanding guy that he agrees with almost everything you do, and having to be a ***** to make sure he retakes Starkhaven breaks my poor fangirl heart. =( At least he's still a sweetheart no matter if you rival/friend him, unlike Anders and Fenris who like to snap at you constantly when you rival them.

Is it horrible that during Act 1, I can constantly picture Hawke running to Sebastian for help? Like when you find Grandfather Amell's will, I can see Hawke asking Sebastian to talk to the viscount about getting the estate back without using up all the money (that we never see) from the Deep Roads. Or telling him about Petrice's plan to provoke the Qunari so that he can talk to the Grand Cleric about it (not that she does anything when you tell her in act 2, but hey). I'm just greedy, I want more Sebastian interaction in Act 1 than the whole two scenes we get currently, especially because it seems to be the longest one.

I rivalmanced him with my character Robyn and didn't need to kill all those people. You can get rivalry with him only by freeing mages and telling him that he must retake Starkhaven. That worked for me, at least

And I agree that more interaction with him during Act I would be great.

Oh yeah, I know that there's more ways to get Rivalry with him, the ones I mentioned are just the really extreme "total *****" options (which sadly net more points... *sigh*).

I'm just disappointed we didn't get him in Act 1. I can rack up a ton of Anders/Fenris friend/rival points so easily because tons of quests focus on mages, whereas in Act 2 most of it is about the Qunari, and Sebastian rewards you friend points for being diplomatic about them, which is what my Hawke usually does... unless I'm playing my "Complete Monster" Hawke. Which means I have to leave him behind where I could get friend points, and probably have to wait until Act 3 to max out his Rivalry bar.

I don't know how Hawke could stand it, looking but not touching for SIX YEARS. If I were her, I would have just jumped him and tried to rip all his clothes off. Guy can't have THAT much willpower.

Well, if your Hawke is a mage, she could visit him in fade during dreams:innocent: I probably misunderstand how Fade works, but whatever lol Besides, why do you think he didn't wanna go to Fade with you? His secret desires would have been revealed! D8 Which eiether be closer to Hawke or retake Starkahven....or bothXD

I think that line is one of his defaults when you talk to him, like after your mother dies, he expresses his sympathies and says he put a memorial on the Chantry wall, or after Petrice leads you to Varnell, he comments that Petrice is "overstepping her bounds". Either way, it's really cute how concerned he is for Hawke.

He obviously didn't want to go into the Fade with you because the devs didn't give him any dialogue for it! XD But, let's just say that after his encounter with Allure, he didn't want to face more demons because they would tell Hawke of his secret desires to ravish her. 

Edit: And I have to mention how jealous I am of you PC users and your awesome screenies. I love the armor Hawke's wearing there.
