AT least you get funny banter with Carver.

Sebastian: Is something troubling you, brother?
Carver: I'm not your brother.
Sebastian: I'm not familiar with Fereldan tradition, but I married your sister. I believe that makes us brothers.
Carver: A "chaste marriage." Some invention of yours, no doubt.
Hawke: Aww. Would it make you feel better if I slept with him? Because I totally would. Right here.
Carver: Sister, please!
Sebastian: Yes, love... rein it in.

True, although I still prefer the rivalry path.

Rivalry doesn't lead to anything, at least as far as Legacy is concerned.

Why bother to make two different paths if one of them gets nothing in terms of content?

The answer to that is simple:

Friendmance, you get engaged during DA2, then married during the blank zone between endgame and Legacy - in my game playthrough.

Rivalmance, you don't have a finish point for the romance(!?) until Sebastian is crowned Prince of Starkhaven...which has yet to happen. He doesn't actually propose to you in the game, just says that the alliance would be powerful. Thus the atrocious flirting...

You're right. I'm just put off at the utter lack of acknowledgement.

Nobody tells a prince what to do... or who to do it with...

*facepalm* I swear I hated (most of) Hawke's flirt lines, especially with Sebastian, and some of Anders. Did the devs sit in a bar and listen to bad pickup lines for a week or what? :P

Agreed. The flirt lines are terrible and I disliked how linear the romances were.

I agree, it would have been better if they all didn't follow the same pattern. (Flirt -> Wait Three Years -> Flirt More -> Companion Quest -> Kiss/Sex -> Wait Three More Years -> Companion Quest -> Resolution (barely) in the Gallows) And as much as I like DA2, the three year time skips made it worse, along with the lack of interaction whenever you wanted.

At least Sebastian's romance didn't follow this pattern... oh who am I kidding it was worse. Use horrible flirt lines -> get direct/indirect proposal in Act 3. Yay.

Horrid flirt lines...

The worst was the one night stand one....ewwwww.

0/10 for Mills and Boon DA2

Now DAO was a bit better, not too much, but I felt that I was having a real conversation with Alistair...ok, maybe not the lampost one...

I especially disliked the "Who said 'marriage'?" flirt option:
"I'm just talking about two people, one night and forgetting all of your troubles."

Very classy, Hawke.

Has anyone actually done the Sebastian romance without the horrid one night stand suggestion? I only use it because the wiki suggests that we do...

I haven't tried it yet, but I will do so on my friendmance playthrough.

It feels like she's channeling Sexual-Harrassment-FemShep with that line...:pinched:

Yes, although with Hale it's the tone of voice and not the actual choice of words. That line, however, is just horrible no matter what the VA does with it.

Totally agree on the flirt lines. The only one I like, sorta, is the "I think of a few services" one after Repetence, where he "has to go pray. A lot." But, that's really just because his response is so cute -- Hawke is still a bit icky. It's like she's spent too much time with Isabela and has to go for the over-the-top sexual innuendo with every line. I wonder if somehow that was on purpose... expecting that a mature liberated woman like Hawke would feel some compelling need to just push him out of his comfort zone instead of actually woo him. But it certainly isn't much of a foundation for an actual relationship.

I agree, the first one is better than the others. I generally would've preferred a more subtle approach.

But one has to wonder where did Sebastian married Hawke since the chantry in kirkwall went boom! Thought I do hope that in the semi-friendmance Sebastian still go back to Starkhaven and take the throne from Goran

This line actually struck me as she just want to bed him rather than be with him.

Also, O hai! ~ haven't been here in forever :)

Love the art!

Do we know what Seb is holding at the end?

There is a rather nasty Seb bashing thread going on at the moment 'Sebastian how I hate you....' I've left a little comment there. Seb needs some support!

Ehhh, it's better to just ignore that thread, keep all the positive Sebastian love in here and don't let the haters bring us down. I've seen Character Bashing wars on other forums, where all the pro-character fans bash the anti-character fans and visa versa instead of just sticking to their own topics and talking about said character. I actually left a forum because that's ALL that when on, it was pretty immature.

Anywhos, adorable fanart!  It's cute how Sebastian changed his clothes, but is still wearing his Andraste belt.
