An author on the Kinkmeme has picked up the prompt for the wedding and what came after. If anyone is interested there are 5 parts already and it is growing...I've made popcorn and am eagerly hitting F5.

Kinkmeme is 18 years and older, and is adult rated short fiction. Criticism is not normally allowed as it is a meme, but you can encourage the author by leaving a comment anonymously. The bonnet, the plaid, the kilt and the feather. Slightly AU, strong Scottish influence, an interesting take on Sebastians naughty thoughts pre-wedding...waggles eyebrows.

Okay, this is my first playthrough romancing Sebastian and I heard something that I hope one of you can help me with. He seems awfully sweet and nice and I understand the chaste thing before marriage, but does he intend to stay chaste after the marriage?

That's actually a source of debate we have once in a while. Some of us think that chaste marriage means no sex ever, since Hawke and Sebastian would be Chantry brother and sister who take vows. Others of us think that he's just proposing no sex until marriage.

So, until we're told otherwise from the devs or future content, it's really however you want to interpret it.

I don't even know what "chaste marriage in the eyes of the Maker" is. I mean, I know the words, but I don't know how they fit together to mean something. Now I see what the debate is.

Sadly Bioware seem to be drifting from their own plotline on this one. In DAO Leliana does state that brothers and sisters of the faith can sleep with one whom they love.

It really comes down to if your Hawke RPG is an Andrastean or not. I RPG a Seeker Hawke investigating Meredith, who obviously has no problem with Chantry vows. Besides I prefer friendmanced Sebastian, rivalling him makes my Hawke feel bad...

Gotta say that I love Sebastian. As a Scotsman myself it's ncie to hear a familiar accent in a game, instead of BBC English accents

Also Sebastian's armour is very reminiscent of Kain's from Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen, when he was human.

It basically looked like this but with the colours inverted.

I'm fine with RP'ing an Andrastian, but if you're going to look at it from a religious standpoint the concept of marriage was created for procreation and reducing temptation, which means sex. I don't understand the point of a sexless marriage. At that point you're just really good friends. And I don't think Sebastian needs to atone for past sins by abstaining from sex with someone he loves.

It's all just very confusing. And I'm not arguing with anyone, at this point I'm just trying to work out what I'm going to do, since I'm at the end of act 1.

In my humble opinion, the story, main game, and Legacy have consistently inferred that Sebastian intends to stay celibate if he renews his vows to the Chantry. Leliana's views on the Andrastian religion are known to be unorthodox and even heretical, so whatever she said in DA:O shouldn't be taken as gospel. Plus, Sebastian was coming from a background of being promiscuous, so taking that vow means something to him. It's not something he would give up lightly.

So, from what I see, until we are given reason to believe otherwise, there is no sex in the Champagne Room. None.

I do see merit in the Friendmance, and there is a romantic appeal to a nonsexual relationship that is loving. And of course, Varric doesn't actually know what goes on behind close doors with Hawke and her LI. So there's always that.

Legacy played after Templar ending:

Whilst Carver in Legacy, underlines Chaste Marriage, he never says celibate. Thedas seems to have open marriages by what is intimated in game.

Bethany never mentions a Chaste Marriage. GW Bethany to Friendmanced Hawke/Seb actually comments on missing the wedding, Hawke says it was wonderful, then Bethany says either 'don't screw it up' (sarcastic Hawke) or 'and what came after' in a wistful voice (friendly Hawke).

All we are told is that Sebastian will not sleep with Hawke in the main DA2 game, and that his story is not finished.

I think Rak72 is correct.

At end game Sebastian does not have any vows, he broke them to avenge his family and Elthina never let him retake them. How persuasive is your Hawke?
