If and when bioware decides to continue Sebastian's story... fans will be fighting over him; more than what is happening right now.

So cute! What's wrong, Sebastian? Just let us love you!

And yes...the alleged Legacy kiss...not sure who got their jollies letting us on like that, but...sadly rivalmancers will go wanting...at least for a while longer.

So...the PAX Starkhaven Hangman t-shirt was never mentioned in here??? Either I missed it in my lurking, or it was never posted: http://yfrog.com/kgy4vksj

It's got Crotch Andraste and everything!!!

A link to a thread about the Hangman t-shirts devs have been wearing to conventions, for more info: http://social.biowar...4/index/8217521

I hadn't seen those before! Thanks for sharing, Teen. Let's hope it does mean that there'll be a Starkhaven DLC or at least another DLC that will touch upon the issue.

I really like Elizabeth. I think this is my favourite picture of the two from your album:

Yay, I knew Ferando Melo wasn't yanking me when he said we'd see Starkhaven! Now I just hope we see Tantervale as well, since it's the other huge city in the Free Marches.

Now I just hope we Sebastianmances get some closure in Starkhaven, especially rivalmance!

I too am very excited at the prospect of seeing Starkhaven. A smooch for my poor Hawke from Seb would be delightful. Celibate marriage to a hot guy? WTH was I thinking when I made that choice for her... poor thing. :crying:

thanks chignon! i like that pic, too. she's like 'you want my prince? you gotta come through ME!' yeah, liked warrior a lot more that i thought i would. 'twas fun. i also liked that i managed to make her not terribly pretty, yet still look compelling. she sneered really well in animations.

and NOW i'm banging my head into a wall trying to get a new mod to work so i can get a new haircut on my hawke. ugh, why do i mess with mods so much? i guess it's because after hours of agonizing over how i broke my game, the new cut feels more worth it?

I love how that Hawke is covered in blood and Sebastian still looks clean.  Perks of being an archer, I suppose.

So...Sebastian gives you +10 Friend points for letting the escaped mage have a night with the wench in Act III.  I found that strange and funny at the same time.

YES! This is my third time playing and it's my favorite Hawke so far.  Just to give you an idea:

Friend: Bethany, Varric, Fenris (first time), Aveline
Rival: Anders (first time), Merrill, Isabela (first time), Sebastian

This Hawke just seems to be nice to her friends and really brutal to her enemies.  And lesser people that tickher off (Javaris was the easest +15 Rival points ever).

Rivaling Sebastian seems so different from rivaling Anders or Merrill.  Those two needs to be reminded of how crazy they are acting.  Sebastian's is more like hardening Alistair or Liliana or telling Garrus it doesn't matter what it takes to stop the bad guys.

Maybe if they made more appealing haircuts... <_< There's maybe two that I like in the CC.

All this waiting is killing me: ME3 and Dragon Age 2 DLC.

Well, here's some more art to tide us over:

that hawke looks suspciously like noah shepard...

i agree. me2, da3 (any eta on da3?)

i'm now getting pulled into da:o again to make a 'canon' run through that AND i'm tempted to finally buy awakening and then go on through da2 for the uber canon run to import into da3.

my last ME/ME2 run was just too canon to mess with it.

hmmm. i guess this is one upside of having very little free time. i only need a few video games to fill it up.

Eh, I would say buy Awakening if you want the story (and to meet the old Anders & the awesomeness of Nate Howe), but don't be surprised by massive import bugs for a "canon" Warden in DA2.  I am forced to use Gibbed's DA:O Save Generator if I want all the quests that I *should* get from having played all of the DA:O DLC to show up.  It's not quite the same, but it saves headaches.

I honestly don't know if I want to import my mageHawke who supported the mages and saved Anders into DA2, or my rogue who is saving herself for Sebastian, and sided with the Templars.  It may depend on the upcoming DLC.

I've been wondering lately...if/when there is a Starkhaven DLC, and if/when the rivalmance is acknowledged, do you all think there would be any acknowledgement of how impractical the "political arrangement" between the Prince of Starkhaven and a mage Viscountess of Kirkwall would be?  I know the writers have said in the past that mages were not intended to be able to become the Viscount, and it just seems like a huge deal that ought to be addressed, in some way, if the romance is continued (or mentioned at all, SOB).

Maybe it's just me, but I'm annoyed at the way Sebastian's friend/rival paths are portrayed.

Generally in DA2, it seemed like the Friendship path was agreeing with them and encouraging them to do what they wanted, where the Rivalry path was disagreeing with them and pushing them to do things they didn't want to do or didn't agree with.

It's basically implying that if you're Sebastian's friend, you agree with him staying in the Chantry because that's what he really wants, but if you're his rival, you push him to retaking Starkhaven, even though he doesn't want to. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the whole point of Sebastian constantly waffling between staying in the Chantry and retaking Starkhaven is because he can't make up his mind about which one he wants? Why can't Hawke agree with him and be his friend, but tell him that he needs to take back Starkhaven? I know it's because of game mechanics, but it still bothers me. Everyone else's friend/rival paths make sense to me, but Sebastian's doesn't.

I guess I think the DAO approval system would work better for Sebastian's case, where in his Act III Questioning Beliefs quest, you could tell him whether he should stay with the Chantry or go back to Starkhaven, and he would do whichever one you say, unlike saying that he should be a Prince on the friendship path and then he decides to stay in the Chantry. *facepalm* Sort of like Alistair, he'll be King or stay as a Grey Warden (or get exiled/executed) just because the Warden says so. (The only difference is that Alistair doesn't want to be King, whereas Sebastian wants to be both a Chantry brother and a Prince.)

But after Allure Sebastian wants to stay in the chantry. I finally got the half way question belief for rivalry today and Sebastian clearly says he wants to come back to the chantry. Allure cast doubt on his plight or case of whatever you call it, and as so many other human being Sebastian defaults to what he knows when he is in doubt.

But Elthina refuses to allow Sebastian come back to the Chantry because she says he hasn't decided what he actually wants or not. Sebastian is defaulting to going back to the Chantry because it's like a comfort zone, it's familiar. It doesn't mean that it's what he really wants, it's just one of the two things he can't decide between that happens to be easier and more familiar.

Oddly enough that's how I feel about most of the friendship/rivalry paths in DA2, not just Sebastian's.

I'd have to agree with Chylise on this one. It always seemed to me that Sebastian retreats to what he knows and what gives him with comfort after his confrontation with the Harimanns and Allure.

Yes, but that also means that Sebastian's first impulse is going back which is why the friendship/encouring him back is strengthen that impulse and saying it is right. It doesn't matter if it is what he really wants, it is what Sebastian currently thinks is what he really wants - thus friendship.
Wheres as if you choose rivalry you are saying that he wasn't wrong before meeting Allure, and that he should not listen to his current impulse which is going back to the chantry. - thus rivalry.

Friendship was by Jennifer Helper described as supporting your companion about their ideas even if it was self-destructive. Sebastian changes passion like a weather vane. (Thanks for that methephor Elthina). So supporting his current passion which after Allure is the chantry, is friendship.

I think what annoys me is that once they "max out" the friend/rival bar, you can't influence them anymore, and then some things stop making sense. Like if you rival Anders (especially via metagaming), but support the mages after you max him out, he constantly complains that you're a templar lover. Or rival Merrill will be angry that you didn't give her the Arulin'Holm, even if you did. I hope that they bring DAO's influence system back, and you can convince your companions to do things based on approval, not have them do things on default because they're your friend or rival.

That was my take on it too; Elthina seemed to know Sebastian better than he knew himself, and she was telling him that he was taking the "easy" path instead of the one that was truly right for him at that moment.

Personally, I feel that IF Starkhaven has a competent ruler, Sebastian should feel at ease about staying with the Chantry.  IF, however, Starkhaven's current ruler is not good for the city, then he should either take on the responsibility himself, or find someone else who would be fit to govern.  He doesn't *have* to do it, but the fate of Starkhaven is obviously important to him.  If he did nothing while bad things went down, I think he would blame himself.

This is one of the many reasons which motivated me to choose the rivalry path. We know Goran Vael is incompetent and weak.

It'sbasically the same with Isabela's rivalry path: somehow Hawke is said to be a stick in the mud. Why? Just because Hawke happens to disagree? Eh.

The concept of the friendship/rivalry system is great, but it definitely needs some work.

Isa's rivalry path is Isa thinking that Hawke is a stick in the mud. There is a differnce, she has to call you something.
