Its better if she join the circle
Pros
-Shes still in same city
-She still have chance at normal life with kids more than if shes warden
-Shes with her own people
-Less risk of death

Cons
-She will do less good for world

Circle Mages arent allowed to have children.
She is in the same city when mages are hunted the most, and no longer under your protection.
You are her FAMILY it doesnt get anymore own people than that.
Risk of death/tranquility is greater in a town where the templars are going nutz.

She is better off either dead or in the Wardens where she can help to fend of the darkspawn and try to stop the next blight before it begins.

So there you go arguements to counter your opinions.

I dunno, if the Circle she would go to is the Kirkwall one then she'd definitely be better in the Grey Wardens. If it's the Ferelden one then it'd be a tough choice.

But at least for Carver the Wardens are clearly the best choice.

Live a normal life with kids? In the Circle? I doubt that
Lucky Hawke has the magnificient power of forsight and could forsee the mage revolt..

Even though shes bitter about it, I still think being a grey warden is best for the long run, even if its shortened her life. (the irony)

But I know she will be safe for the moment, away from templars.

I like her in the Wardens...

My Warden from DA:O can now get it on with her.

This is a big win.

Being in the Circle actually means no kids. If she were to get pregnant they would let her have the baby but take it away from her after it is born. At least Wardens can get married and still have kids abeit at a reduced fertility rate.

Yea, this.

Although I haven't played it, isn't it a "make her a Warden or she dies" thing?  It's not like you signed her up at a recruiting station or anything while she was looking at shiny new boots.

Wynne had a son if i remember correctly, She talks about it with Allstair. So Circle mages can have children :)

Her son was taken away by the templars, mages aren't allowed to keep their children.

I prefer the wardens, i think a mage is an incredibly useful asset for stopping the darkspawn (and that is what concerns me most, but then i am pro-dwarf) and she can do much more than sitting in a circle full of blood mages and fanatical templars. She may not like it, but i think she makes a better use of her talents that way, and i doubt the circle (specially the kirkwall one) is a much better place for a normal life. I actually liked how when i talked to her as a grey warden, she seemed more grow up and less like an over protected child.

Not until the end of the game, where she could have already been made tranquil(which you dont know til the end).
As Viscount you can also inforce some change to help your sister to if she went off to be a Warden, by saying that Wardens are free to become part of the Kirkwall society.

I have just countered you again the butthurt section is over there--------->
I WIN!!!!

No, joining the Wardens is bad. Because I know the price for being a Grey Warden. They expose themselves to the taint just in a manner that they can live a few decades without turning into a ghoul. I hated it for my Grey Warden from DA:O and I would certainly not let that happen to my beloved brother or sister if there is a way to avoid it. Unless the only other option is death of course. Then rather Grey Warden.

What happens if you side with the Templar and she's in the Circle? Do you kill her?

I think her joining the wardens was an interesting dynamic. She kinda hated me after that. At least she did until the end of the game. I found it kind of interesting. I hear she is a bit more happy joining the circle, though. I just can't imagine life in the Kirkwall circle being a good life at all.

You save her in both ways, whether you side with the templars or mages. I think she can only die in the deep roads.

I guess it is a better life if you are the sister of the Champion of Kirkwall. Who would dare to touch her?

That's kind of true, but you don't become Champion of Kirkwall until 6 years after she joins the circle.  Lots of bad **** can happen in 6 years.  It doesn't, but it could have.

No you become Champion after 4 years. They take Bethany 3 years before that though. Anyway, I think the name Hawke bears weight even before he/she becomes Champion.

Im sure being a circle mage in Kirkwall is great fun, until Ser Alrik (she mentions him in her letter) or some other templar has his way with her that is.

I haven't had her join the circle, but I assumed it happened while you were in the Deep Roads or right when you get back.  Then 3 years pass into act 2.  Then 3 more years pass into Act 3.

Well I feared that too, but it doesn't happen. Maybe Cullen looks out for her. I am rather missed the choice to talk to Cullen about Bethany after they took her. Would have good to at least ask him to look after her.
