The title says it all. What is your highest crit, with what class, around what level and was it on console or PC? I am on the xbox 360 and I am starting to have my doubts about 50k crits in this game. The highest I have ever crit is about 2500 on my level 22 mage with 900% damage increase from stagger. I just find it hard to believe that one class can do so little and another could do 20k+ more in a single blow.

Well, my assassinate crits for 6000+ bow, 8000+ daggers without cross class as I did a no mage play on my rogue. So with brittle that should be 24-32k if I had a mage in the party. 50k doesn't seem that far out there.

As the above said. Add to that Mark of Death and Curse of Mortality and take a target with low resistance to begin with and you can get above 40k.

Assassinate is the only ability that can really go that far. That or a berzerker/vanguard/reaver build maybe. The next best thing for a rogue would be vendetta.
My highest recorded damage was a 6k vendetta combo on Orsino, no hex of torment, no mark of death, so there's certainly room for improvement.
Mages aren't really good at making huge spike damage. On the other hand, no rogue or warrior can clear a room as easily as casting fire storm and tempest, they don't have as good support options, no healing, inferior crowd control options (local stuns and knockdowns are fine but mages are just better at that)

Brand -> Mark of Death -> Curse of Mortality -> Blood Frenzy -> Claymore -> Stacked Adrenaline Rush -> and a brittled target can land me a 10k - 12k crit as a warrior using mighty blow

Not to single targets no, but you can have your warrior brittle a small army of enemies with a single attack and chain lightning crit them all to death in a blink of an eye. It's way more satisfying seeing an entire company of enemies explode instantly. :lol:With enough enemies added up you can probably reach higher numbers this way. Each mob takes about 5 k damage.

Well I haven't actively chased a big crit, but in a random fight my rogueHawke did get a nice 21500 dmg crit Assassinate on some random Petrified & Brittled mage. Without the Petrification damage resistance buff (ie. brittled with frost spells instead), and with a lot of the dmg resistance debuffs available to the game, I suppose I can see that making it to the 30k+ range. But overkill on some low-health mage isn't all that impressive anyway.

I'd be more interested in crits in the real game, boss fights where you actually had to beat em, crits that had a purpose other than being crafted in a lab to produce a nice number that is a glorified illusion of no use in the actual gaming. In those, I typically get to numbers in the range of ~10k with my rogueHawke. Like: Pinpoint Strikes + STAGGER + Vendetta + Petrify (BRITTLE) + Ambush + chalk up combo for .. + STAGGER  + Explosive Strike. A combo that typically keeps the boss mostly unable to really fight back, while producing a combined amount of some serious series of crit blows. That's practical, and it's damned effective.

my highest one was about 80% of the mature dragon's health with daggers Assassinate on Sundermount in Act 2. i missed the numbers but I think it was quite a bit. (one of my mages got it BRITTLE after they both cast Petrify and Winter's Grasp a couple times)

here is my best crit screenie so far (one-shotting a Qunari Sten)

Biggest was actually when I was testing out an Archery rogue build.

Biggest while using dual-wield was a bit lower. For some reason, only one of the daggers got the Brittle damage bonus (notice the white hit is only 4.8k).

interesting! do you find that in general you do more damage when performing CCC assassinate with your bow?

My current bow has 86 base dmg + 16 spirit dmg and my daggers are around 30-35, but I haven't managed to one-shot any bosses with my bow. I'm going to test this a bit more, but it seems that I do more dmg with the daggers for some reason.

Well, I've beaten the game now on my warrior, then mage, and finally a rogue. Mage was the most fun overall. My rogue died constantly early on mostly because I was playing the class like a duel weilding warrior. After getting assasinate, the game just got damn easy...I have logged a 49989 crit against a boss type character... almost broke 50k :(

217.5k with full party setup on Orsino, but it was a sub-optimal setting. It is possible to go over 300k total with either Maker's+Shadow's as a DW rogue or with Celebrant/Edge of Night as a Reaver/Berserker warrior. I'm talking optimized party setup (Merrill, Sebastian, Anders/Bethany), of course.

Unfortunately I don't have Sebastian's DLC, so I can't use his wounding arrow chain to further lower damage resistance.
Also, my build is more focused on balancing of Dexterity and Cunning to achieve the highest average DPS. I don't have it tuned for Critical damage except the inclusion of the +25% crit damage talents from Shadow.

I know ive seen some sick crits, because the boss would drop like a fly after it hit, but sadly the numbers sometimes dont pop up. The highest ive seen myself do was 43k with my archer, but i think my highest hit topped over 50k easily.

I crit a Genlock Alpha (Legacy DLC) using Vendetta for 43,000 without Mark of Death/Brand, but I think when I did it, Fenris just got a stagger just before I hit him although I didn't hear the confirmation sound when the thing died.
