My computer died a few months back, and with it went my DA:O saves.
It was my intention to replay DA:O and Awakenings prior to the release of DA2 so that I had a perfect import (or two) but I never got around to it; my highest DA:O character is about level 6 at the moment.
I've played through DA2 already with a fresh "Default Background" Rogue expecting to see very little DA:O related content because of this, however I had cameos from Leliana, Zevren and Alistair, as well as a few other minor things like the Dalish/Former Werewolf conflict.
So now I'm ready to play DA2 again with a different Hawke/philosophy and I'm wondering if I should bother replaying DA:O before I do so. I prefer DA2 to DA:O so don't relish the prospect of schlepping through all that old and largely irrelevant content yet again, especially if importing doesn't really impact the game too much.
So.. I'm after advice from those of you who have already played through DA2 with a DA:O import.
Did much carry into DA2?
And yes, I know I'm an idiot for not having backups.
Is importing from DA:O -really- worth it?

Eh, it wasn't bad... I mean, I got to find out that Avernus continued his research in an ethical way and discovered some disturbing things that were sent to the First Warden, found out Bhelen was slaughtering the Harrowmont family until only one remained, and was able to talk to King Alistair of Ferelden. Otherwise, meh.
Some of what is supposed to carry over is bugged
For example, Nathaniel Howe will say that you spared the Architect (and is angry about it... I was confused to) regardless of whether you actually did or not.

There was a tool to create an importable Origins save where you could set all the flags but I can't seem to find it now that search is gone

As much as it should've, yes. Which isn't a whole lot, but I don't really see the issue with it. If I saw a huge chain reaction I'd be rather mystified that what I did in Ferelden found itself all the way in Kirkwall.

If you don't think you'll enjoy playing DA:O again, don't.
