Any one have an idea as to when the 360 version is going to get patched? I've already beaten the game and, if the patches will be out in the near future, will wait for them before I get into my subsequent playthroughs.
I'm in the same boat
This must be my third time visting BSN today in the hopes that theres some news on a patch

Only news on a patch for consoles has been seen in the PS3 forum here. Basically a patch is in the works, and it's big but it will not hit this week and there is no ETA on when it will hit. Could be next week, could be next month (in fact, looking at the date it probably will be next month!)
The issue with consoles is that both Sony and Microsoft QA patches before they are allowed to be distributed making the process longer. It could be the patch is already done and we're just waiting on QA, from the way Luke worded his response (i.e. knowing it will be not released this week and talking of the patch development in past tense) suggested to me the patch is completed and we're waiting on Sony and Microsoft. But hey, that could just be me clutcing at staws since I am desperate to finish my playthrough! Unfortunately my poor Hawke is suffering from slow-mo disease.
I'm hoping Sony and Microsoft understand the importance of getting this done quickly since the game is effectively broken until it's patched and expedite the QA as much as they can. *sigh*
Until then, it's just a waiting game. You'd be better off just shelving DA2 and coming back to it later; that's what I am doing.

Currently on second playthrough and always at some point in act 2 Hawkes attack speed, spell casting, etc get slowed and make him useless in a fight....is this getting fixed and what is causing it?
It's caused by a bug with Isabela's friendship buff. When you get her to 50% friendship or above her 'Thumb's Up!' buff activates giving you and her 5% speed increase. However, it's bugged out to give you negative values instead so it's -5% speed increase, and it stacks every time you load the game with her in the party. So there are people playing this game through Act 2 and 3 with 30-40% speed decrease, if not more for excessive reloaders (thinking of people playing on Nightmare here).
There is also a similar bug with Sebastian which decreases your damage resistance. I have -50% damage resistance on my Hawke at the moment... I literally die in 2 hits! Makes me cry.
There's a forum post explaining how to avoid it here but it's pretty effing complicated... and involves a lot of messing around - more effort than it's worth, imo. Better to just wait for a patch.

Thank you sestrensaz. Always like getting questions answered with more than a single word. And. . . meh. . . well, I've not had any serious problems my Hawke never gets the "slo-mo" problem. I just have quests that won't complete, or trigger for that matter. And there is the Merrill bug and other minor annoyances. Oh, and an occasional freeze. But, hey, I played through New Vegas and all its bugs so this is almost inconsequential by comparison.
No worries. I know how frustrating it is thinking we've been left at sea with no concrete response from Bioware... that post on the PS3 forums most people will never see and I think it probably should be sticked somewhere so people are aware something in coming and coming soon. At the moment there are people who are returning their games as faulty to places like Amazon, and demanding a refund from EA because Bioware aren't communicating with people about this enough.
Also, it surprises me some people manage to avoid getting the bug with Isabela and Sebastian despite getting max friendship with them both. Hrm... there are people who say they have Isabela in the party all the time and switch her in and out indiscriminately and never encounter this bug. So I really haven't a clue what the exact sequence of events is that triggers it.
All I know is that it's happened to me and now I either go back to the beginning of Act 2 and start from there, start again compeltely or just sit and wait... I'm very tempted to start over again when the patch comes to be honest.

does anyone know if the XBOX 360 and PS3 patches are going to fix the choppy graphics on the console as well?

What is covered in the console patch most likely won't be known publicly until it is release, unfortunately. Just have to sit tight and hope.
Also, it might be worth trying logging out of the EA servers while playing DA2. That seems to have resolved a lot of the stuttering for some people on consoles.

If you can I installed the game onto my 360's HD and it solved most to all of my graphics problems, and shortened the annoyingly long load times.

I have a PS3 version, how would I go about doing that?

If you are waiting for this patch you are wasting your time. I use the PC and have this patch. And the game performance has gotten about 90% WORSE after I installed this patch. Yesterday it took me 5 minutes to complete a usual 30 second battle because of lagging, almost to the point of my game freeezing. And this has become a consistent issue. Before I installed the patch it was VERY rare. If I knew how to uninstall this patch I would do so in a second!!!!!
Not waiting for this patch, there is a different patch in the works for consoles. Apologies, I guess we are slightly hi-jacking the PC patch thread! :innocent:

No prob. I thought you were waiting for a console conversion of this 1.01 patch, which is horrific for performance.

Sorry don't know much about PS3, I assume there is a way to install it, but I don't own one.

There isn't a way to install the game on the PS3; you don't have that option. There is a mandatory install, but otherwise nothing. It's a feature of the X360 that the PS3 doesn't have, unfortunately.
As I said before, it's worth just disconnecting yourself from PSN while playing as that also disconnects you from the EA servers - for some reason the EA servers cause all sorts of mayhem with stuttering and freezing the game on PS3. It might not completely solve the problem but it will stop a lot of the annoying stuttering that happens every few seconds as the game communicates with the server while you play.

Reinstall the game, then don't install the patch. I didn't see any performance change. The only performance change I had was when I went with the newer, Beta Nvidia driver optimized for DA2.
Patch 1.01 will not be released on consoles as it only addresses a few PC technical issues like saving with single core processors. The "big" patch they were talking about will be for all platforms and will address quest and scripting issues. Or so they have said...

Any one experiencing lag after the patch or are there server issues? I was running fine prior to the patch.
Yes, your not alone. I have been getting ALOT more lag and temporary graphic freezes since I installed the patch.
Same here -- it seems to be linked to some kind of connection to the server issue that has only occured after the patch, at least in my case. I'll get long freezes, maybe a frame every 10-15 seconds, that last up to a minute, and then about half the time after it ends, there's a little message saying that the game has lost its connection to the server. So for now, I'm running without logging in to see if it goes away.

Thank you, I have seen the same "server connection lost" notice. I hope they will fix this. I really don't want to have to do a complete reinstall just to get rid of the patch.Killjoy Cutter wrote...

Thank you Ses, cause I was wondering if something was wrong with my disk. Is it possible to just rival Isabella and Sebas in order to avoid this glitch? Bella is a bit of a skank and I usually end up rivaling Sebas anyway with the way I choose my dialogue options.sestrensaz wrote...
