How do I make it so Hawke doesn't have any weapons in combat?

Even when I unequip all of his weapons he still appears to have a sword and shield.

Yeah mine did that with daggers, it was annoying because the hilts blocked people's faces in some of the cutscenes, and would show at some points and not at others. Somtimes, only one showed. I am not consistently drawing and sheathing my daggers during conversations with my friends (well, maybe Anders...)

I think the OP is wanting to fight with no weapons, which I don't think is permitted by the game. I can look to see what might be forcing weapons, if it's that, but I don't know if it's anything we can chage at this time or not.

Perhaps a skin change for the default weapon? something transparent?

Yeah, every characer has a default weapon that cannot be removed. Might be able to change that with a mod, I don't know. But even if you could make it disappear, why would you want to? Fighting without weapons would put the characters at a distinct disadvantage. In the context of the game's mechanics it makes no sense.
