same way Games Workshop evolved over the years, entire races where changed in look or left out, its part of role play, you accept what the lore masters write after all its there world, I personelly didnt find the change to elves visually a problem, now if it was something like what Blizzard did with the Draenei aka ignoring part of the lore they themselves created to allow them to come into play then yes there would be a point of argument, but the elves in dragon age are still the elves of dragon age.... they just look more like giraffes now
That doesn't make any sense. Bioware tells us they are creating a world, a universe, where these stories in different games are supposed to intertwine. How is it that they are simply allowed to throw out lore and make massive design changes at a whim?
See, problem is, I'm being asked to accept that the elves I've met and created in the previous game all look 'like giraffes' now. And no, I won't accept that. The change is too severe for me to reconcile.
I can't really see Zevran, as he is in DA:2, as a sexy assassin. Everything I imagine from his backstory is marred by this. I really hope they put a toolset out so that moders might be able to let us change them back to something more like they are supposed to be. I mean, really, I don't hate the new design it's self, but it would be so much better as a genetic variation within the race, or even the result of experimentation done by blood mages upon their slaves. (In fact, I think that would be pretty awesome) I don't have any problem with Fenris looking the way he looks. But why should every male elf in the world have to be that much like him now? Especially since it doesn't suit so many of the elves from before.
