While driving along the Skyway, you hear chatter from a few people who eventually are amushed by Geth.  Eventually across a few entrances under the skyway, you find more Geth and a few human corpses.

I was always too busy trying not to get shot to follow the "story" about what was going on.


So... what was going on?

It's just like 1 or 2 items you can loot. Just like some upgrade that some ppl decided to move while a geth ambush is going on and they end up dying for it.
