I myself, was very disapointed with the cameos in DA2. It seemed there was very little cameos and the cameos that were there, they were with charictars that i didn't really care about. (Zevren and Nathaniel. Although I was happy to see Alistair)

I liked what was there, but I was certainly hoping for more.

There were cameos and references to so many characters, from just a memory jog I can remember references/cameos from Alistair, Nathaniel, Zevran, Sten, Cullen, Hero of Ferelden/Warden, Loghain, Cailan.

Act 1 is full of the references, and 2 & 3 have more actual cameos. There were more than enough, they were quite well done in fact (in my opinion.)

Bethany references to him a lot in Act 1 if you click on her outside of Gamlen's house. She talks about the "Big Qunari who killed her best friend" among other things.

Talk to her near the Qunari compound. She tells you why she dislikes them and blabs on about that monster Qunari in Lothering. ^_^

Considering the cameos they did have had pretty much no impact on anything(except for maybe Leliana) I'm kinda glad they didn't have more. If you are going to put cameos into the game, at least make them meaningful. They just seemed too fan servicey to me.

I think most of the cameo's are forced.

The exception is Leliana, as she will be a major player in future DA plots.

I wish there were less cameos, not more. The world is huge, so if each game takes place in a different region, I shouldn't hear about or see everyone from a previous person's life. Makes Thedas seem smaller. Mass Effect does this as well, but since you play the same character, it makes a tad more sense.

I'm not saying the ones in DA2 aren't good, I just don't want to see anymore of them.

I thought they went a little overboard with cameos in Mass Effect 2. If in ME1 you meet a person that talks, you could be almost certain they were in the sequel as well. I'm glad they toned it down in DA2.

No, because I had plenty of references to my Warden and considered the cameos sufficient. It would be ridiculous to bring every single companion back, but if you listen to the barkeep in the Hanged Man, there's certainly a reference to Shale.

I thought the cameos were just right.  There was plenty of variety in how the cameos appeared, they happened when you didn't expect them, and they didn't take up too much time.  When I meet Alistair, he is the King and has brought Teagan with him.  Teagan mentions the "Hero of Ferelden" and Alistair comments "he has a name," which I thought was hilarious.

Oh, and I dig Leliana in her seeker outfit <3

Bioware walks a fine line between good story threads, and the dreaded Geoge Lucas Syndrome, where all characters knew each other as children and are all involved in every aspect of the story.

I like the fact that the cameos are what they are. If the cameo characters are more involved in the story, it sort of loses credibility at some point.

I thought some were awfully forced, like the Alistair one; ruling must be hard on him because he looked TERRIBLE. Teagan, too.

Only cameo i missed was Oghren he should have been in the hangedman every act for all game just drinking.

Also isabela and Zeveran should know every other character as they've had sex with every man woman and dwarf across thedas.

they throw all the cameos in fairly late in the game, woulda been nice if they were more spread out but thats a nitpicky thing to complain about.

plenty of cameos and all of the ones i encountered were accurate to the import.

Actually there were almost too many cameos imo.

If you 'coincidently' meet everyone from DA:O it would just look forced.
