First off, let me say I thoroughly enjoyed my first playthrough. It was when I began my second playthrough that I noticed it: The lack of companion development in DA 2. In Mass Effect 2, there was that constant growth in your relationship with your team, mission after mission, that was lacking in DA 2.
One could argue it is there in DA2, but it is so far spread out that it doesn't engage you like ME 2 does. Sure, there is a lot of dialog when you're walking around, but it just doesn't feel the same.
Clearly DA 2 is more akin to ME now than it is to DA. I just hope in DA 3 their is more of a depth of conversation with companions. DA 2 has such a wealth of interesting characters, it is a shame we don't get to know them better.
Thoughts?

Hm.. I actually though DA2 had better companion development mainly because of the constant (AWESOME) banters. It felt more in depth than ME2 where they seem to usually direct the dialogue towards you.
However, ME2 does it better in presenting your squads as gray, complex characters compared to DA2's sarcastic dwarf and sexy pirate.
