To have a good ending in the relationship with the fresh prince you have to kill Anders. That's a bit macabre.

All romances sucked in my opinion. Not because of the characters but because of how they were handled. You have two romance scenes and that's it. In DA:O, you could always kiss your LI and "bed" them. Plus they referred to you as their LI too. In DA2, you feel no attachment to them as LIs.

No Anders, you are the demons.

And then Anders was an abomination.

Though I enjoyed the game, I have to admit the romances were pretty bad. I think they should have had Fenris change his attitude a little after falling for a Hawke Mage. It was sort of silly having him say all mages are scum, but I am yours Mage Hawke...LOL.

Honestly, playing a mage in Kirkwall was sort of weird. I should have been arrested at some point. I should have had to talk Meredith into letting me go, so I can spy on other mages for her or something along those lines. Anyway, that is another story.

I think Liliana spoiled a lot of people on DA romances. She was devout, but not annoyingly so (to me at least). All you had to do was be a fairly decent person in the game and she was all over you. Only one other companion got mad when you chose things that made her happy.

It was.....just too easy.

It is a fair bit different this time. There is no real 100% everyman's LI. the closest thing is a Dalish blood mage (who I happen to adore, so DA2 romance doesn't bother me). Your companions often really dislike each other.

I can definitely understand not liking DA2 romance.

I couldn't stand Leilana. Liked Morrigan but as Claudia Black voiced her that was a given. Still I was definitely more enamoured with Isabela than i was with Morrigan. Think it was the banter while travelling with her over the 40 hours hooked me in. Plus the fact my character was voiced helped wth the immersion. Scenes with her were all good but i do wish there were more of them.

I didn't like the romances this time... they felt strange and forced. Like, I tried to romance Merrill, and after one night she's like, "I love you!" and your response is either ask her to move in with you or end the relationship. What? You don't have nearly enough conversations with the LIs to warrant moving in... it was creepy. There's absolutely no buildup towards "love," and I didn't feel bad for dumping her. Now that I think about it, I don't recall Hawke kissing her until that night, but I didn't romance her until late into Act 2... that made it even more uncomfortable...

Yeah, I guess I'll never get that Romance achievement... it's just not interesting at all this time around.

Edit:  Ah what the hell... I'll go ahead and say it.  I also hated Leliana.  Always have, always will.

What I didn't like about the romances is that it takes 3 years before the romance plot gets moved forward. What made me cringe was the line that Anders said, something about waiting 3 years yearning for you night and day, something along those lines... creeper much.

I only really like Isabela romance. I sort of tried the other but I just don't like them.

She mentions it once near the end of the game. While she would make a mage into a tranquil for sneezing to loud, she doesn't even look distrusting when you talk to her.

Rediculous.

The strange thing about this comic is that it only shows three of the five possible romances for female Hawke (females have one more than male since Sebastian is straight). It almost feels like it wants to point out that the heterosexual romances are more correct or something, or the only real ones.

Where is Merrill and Isabella?

My assumption was that the creator is a straight woman and she made a comic about her experiences with the game.

I guess so. Still I would have been more fun if she had made one with all LI:s imo, but I won't complain any more:P

That the creator is straight isn't really relevant though. I am straight yet on my playthroughs (I have finnished DA2 twice so far) I have only had homosexual relationships.
