Ancient Rock Wraith in 11 minutes(can do it faster): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmnlRiqGJKQ

-----------------

I'm pretty solidly into my mage solo run, and at this point the only bosses that have a chance at stopping me are Rock Wraith(I have a solid strat for him, so I'm not worried tbh), High Dragon, and Xebenkeck.

As soon as I learn how to edit videos and make a youtube account, I'll be posting my video of solo Mature Dragon. I didn't record the Ogre fight because it's 10 minutes of running around until the Ogre kills all the adds.

Any other videos you guys want to see, just post what you want to see in this thread and I'll record them. Maybe you guys want to see how to deal with the prologue? Or assassins? Let me know and I'll go back to a different save and record!

Any questions you have, feel free to post here and I'll do my best to answer them. Once I get enough questions I'll post a Q&A here for everyone to see.

Also, if anyone here wants my fraps footage to edit & throw up on their youtube account to make my lazy arse life easier, feel free to send me a message.

:Build:

"All primal up to 9, at 9 grab force mage stuff, then at 10 grab Unshakeable(Edit: I just noticed I fail at math, fixed this part). If you get extra skill tomes, then you end up grabbing Unshakeable at 9 then spirit tree stuff at 10.

Staves are Staff of Parlathan(fire rune as well), Magister's Scythe.

Get25 in magic, 20 in willpower, then you can either go 2pt magic 1pt con, or 1pt magic 2pt con, or if you're really struggling go 3 pt con.

I grabbed the electricity resist hood from the vendor in hightown. Robes, gloves, boots, neck, belt are all DLC. I always stock up on +attack gear, since if I ever find myself in a situation where I'm getting a lot of glancing blows, swapping gear with +attack helps a lot.

Carry electricity resist runes with you, you get the pattern from the mage goods place in the Gallows. Put armor runes in all armor slots, then when you start fighting profanes, switch to electricity resist."

I'll update it as I get deeper in the game.

It's not that bad to be honest. Rock Armor + Unshakeable is boss.

Sounds pro. Do you change build for each boss or got something standard? Do the midgame and lategame fights also involve lots and lots of running?

Some assassin battle vids would be cool and the Nexus Golem battle would be interesting to see how you handle it.

I would really like to see someone solo the Nexus Golem battle and stay in the big room.

Put all points into primal tree until 8, grab force mage stuff, then grab Unshakeable at 9. You can kill everything up to Rock Wraith with this build without any problems, even the tal-vashoth(who are immune to Chain Lightning).

I'm switching it up for Rock Wraith. I'll post the build for it, then hopefully a video shortly after.

I slept in today, was sleeping until 2PM. :D I do feel that mages are gimped in damage, but they're by far the best support+cc in this game.

You got it. I'm definitely going to have to repsec for the Nexus Golem if I'm going to stay in the room, but I should have videos of all the fights in a week or so.

I'm going to have to apologize in advance though. They're not going to be edited and fancy, but at least they'll be up for everyone to see.

Im almost at lvl 9 on my solo game. Did talents differently then you though. Started Spirit Bolt, Walking Bomb, Winters Grasp, Cone of Cold, Chain Light. Added Tempest, Makers Upgraded Sprit Bolt, Unshakable, and Rock Armor in that order. Staff I alternate between DLC Staff of Par or Magister's Blade (7g) from Black Emp for fire Immune stuff. Need to buy the Stat tome still.

Using Dog?

Have you done the majority/all the quests? I'm stuck on a couple but I still have stuff to do. Raiding the bloodmage base makes Hawke say a great line!

You're running the same staves as me, but I find myself using the physical staff more than the fire one. +Attack is probably our 2nd strongest stat, with the strongest being magic.

I'm still grinding quests, but I could go into the deeproads now and be fine. If I ever find myself stuck on a quest, I just put that quest on hold and go and do other, usually the next spell or 2 I get is enough to get past what I was stuck on.

I'm not using Dog(I name him Taco), because it just doesn't feel like a solo if you have an added DPS/tank. The ones like Merrill that you cant control, you really have no choice. But with Dog/Taco, you have a choice and I feel it's just better to not use him.

Edit: Oh as for the amount of quests, I'm not sure. I think I'm almost done, but I don't have too many in my quest log. Pretty sure I picked up all I can, too.

No dog for me for the same reasons.
Are you keeping Wil up to use the latest armor? Mine is at 17 atm I think which is already too low for the armor that is dropping.
I wish Miasma was available from Origins.

Yeah I'm at 20 wil from points with +4 from items, so 24 in total. 3 of the extra wil points come from 20 wil gear, so not much I can do about that.

The extra 2 slots in the Black Emporium chest are too good to pass up. I'm at ~210 armor, so I'm not taking a lot of damage. Probably going to switch the armor runes with elec resistance runes for Rock Wraith/profanes in general.

The good thing about skeptical agnostic is that one can't really be wrong, because if something becomes a matter of fact, there is nothing to be skeptical nor agnostic about :)

Then again, the same was said about 2H warriors in DAO .. it can't be done, they are gimped. The biggest change from DAO, in this sense, there is no statistic.

How good are those physical dmg staffs?  I tried using one, but it didn't seem to do as good of dmg as the elemental staffs.  Maybe I wasn't seeing the numbers right.

The one that gives you +63 attack, ignores armor, and can heal you on hit is a great one(you get it from the Black Emporium). Attack is just an amazing stat for a solo mage, so it's too good to pass up. I do carry my fire one around, but I haven't used it ever since I got the physical.

I'm planning on using this staff for a long time, but if I come accross a staff with majorly superior damage and stats, I'll switch them but always keep this physical staff just in case.

So, it really just depends on the stats that come with the staff, but always carry a few different types with you.

I've running spirit staffs mostly, but I wanted to get Cold-Blooded but I missed it in Act 2 so I think that's out of the question.  Spirit seem to have ok dmg with pretty much anyone I come across.

I don't have Black Emporium so I guess that staff is out of the question for me.  I can't seem to find any staff into the 40s.  I think 38 is the highest I've seen so far.

My magic lvl is 63, so I know I can use any staff out there.  I just can't find any high dmg staffs.

- I do plan on gettign Black Emporium for my 2nd game.  My first run I wanted all stock.

Why is attack so amazing, does it somehow translate into a spells chance to not be resisted or something?  I rarely, if ever miss with staff attacks and I'm usually only at 83% without the aura up.  Or rather, that's what I'm at when I'm not able to use Voracity.

The Magister's Scythe is indeed a very nice weapon though, especially for a Blood Mage.

Spirit seem to have ok dmg with pretty much anyone I come across.

Shades and some demons say no.

Attack reduces the chance of a glancing blow. You notice those 1 and 3 damage attacks? Those are a constant x(whatever your auto attack damage is supposed to be) damage with more attack. On a lot of boss fights, you're auto attacking a good portion of the fight.

I want non-boss fights. Some "normal" fights are much harder than actual bosses, which can be cheesed with kiting and line of sight. Particularly fights involving multiple archers and assassins who one hit kill mages on NM and spam potions (as well as stealing your own.)
