So I was searching for dragon age 2 mods there is a small number but there are growing but the most important thing is that most of them are using the same gda files. I recently combined 5 mods using the same gda file with gda editor. I am not saying it is hard but it take quite some time and it is freaking boring and I need to check some lines twice just to be sure about the modifications I made.
Futhermore some gda that have the same name don't have the same lines.
But to make this post shorther i will get to the point. For dao there is something called CharGenMorph Compiler ( which is automaticaly adding lines into your chargenmorph xml file ) so since da2 mods are using mostly the same files is it possible for doing for adding new lines with for example for abi_base.gda which a lot of mod have but we need to modify it personally.

My real question is: is there a possibility to make make that will add new lines in that gda file it isn't possible and we must do it personally. Thanks for replies. See you.

Technically, most of the mods that edit the same gda file are doing it wrong; there is no reason to include the entire file if you are only changing one or two rows in the file. Bioware added the ability to selectively override parts of, or add new rows to, a gda file in DAO and DA2 works the same way. I suspect I will have to write a tutorial showing how to do this so people know the proper way to do it.

Also, mods that change the same rows, but make the changes to different columns will have to be manually combined; these mods would likely benefit from something like that, but I don't know how easy it would be to write such a tool.

I know how to edit files the problem is that I didn't wrote the mod so the Author could change the other lines most of the time is a waste of time lol but sometimes it have given me profit.
I would love if author of the mod would give in description lines what you need to change to get this working instead of giving me the entire file since I already have this file in my overrite so I have to mod it myself.
I hope it will help the tutorials of your for mod creaters so for example you need to change this and that in ability_base.gda that would be awesome since I wouldn't waste my time in checking all the lines. It would save me a lot of time. Thanks of thinking of doing that thing ( I meant tutorial).

Well for me looking at those files is like errrmm whats this mean....and im sure its easier for a modder just to do the file rather then explain it all to a nubie like me.

no it is easier because if you have 5 or 6 mod that are using the same file what you will do ? You need to mod it right so the information what lines are changed would be very usefull and save you a lot of time.

A program to compare and merge gda differences vs the original would be useful. As would a program to remove unchanged lines from a mod gda incase an author has done the wrong thing
