im surprised i haved seen posts theorizing about this yet.
is it not possible that Flemeth is a child born of a Grey Warden, specifically one that ended a blight.
Granted, shes old and supposedly does the body snatching thing, but think of this
Your a grey warden, your gonna fight the arch demon tomorrow, you dont expect to live....
yip you guessed it... lets get laid!!!
Granted, when Morrigan did this maneuver with the Hero of Fereldan, it saved his life.
But maybe when done without magical aide the ritual just fathers a child , and doesnt save the warden daddy.
Flemeth clearly has a link/relationship to Dragons, seemingly holding the soul of a dragon.
when she resurrects, we see her dragon form first- her natural form? or her Draconic Soul?
Could Morrigan be attempting yo create a child that would be a match to Flemeth? what reason would Morrigan have to create a child via the ritual?
Flemeth unveiled?

I think it's pretty implicitly stated that every Grey Warden before DA:O died killing the archdemon. I don't have a direct quote or source, though. So I guess i could be mistaken.

What if flemeth is an old god? It may be possible, and also why she seemed reluctant to aid directly against the darkspawn in DAO? Seems out there, but I think it might be possible.

Well even if she was an old god it's not like she'd have any hesitation about fighting against the blight. While Archedemon's are indeed old god's, they're only a shell of what they used to be. Tainted and twisted by the touch of the darkspawn they lead the blights.

That being said...
Flemeth looks a little tainted herself..
I mean, her eyes!!!
Plus - What Avelene said.
Witch of the Wilds stealing children?
Does this imply that Morrigan is not her Biological Child?
If they are related by blood, is Morrigan the Child of an Old God?
One thing is for certain, Flemeth is definitely related in some way to Dragons.
The Concept art for her, that appears in the Collectors Edition Strategy Guide shows her almost at the front of a horde of Dragons, seemingly charging into battle.
Not to mention her new hair do is very draconic looking, in the way it is bound and shaped.

Flemeth is old. Those bags are bags. Her skin is wrinkly cause she is old. She is an old old ****.
I thought it was already implied in Origins Flemeth raised stolen children to keep herself alive? Morrigan isn't her child all the same. Flemeth is a shapeshifter, like Morrigan. If she can turn into a dragon, that doesn't necessarily mean she is or is tied to dragons. Just might be a personal choice.

I think Morrigan is her child, she as the same eyes if I remember
I support the idea that she is an old god(dess ?) because of the ritual she teached to Morrigan to save the warden in Dao, I don't think she'd knew it was possible if she wasn't an old god(dess again ?)herself, the fact that she have a dragon shape, and she seems to know much more things than she let know (like when she talk about wesley death and say that it will get no easier or something, I'm sure she already knew what was going to happen to Hawke's mother, just like for the appointment she had to keep, she already knew that Morrigan will ask the warden to kill her I'm sure, or maybe I'm just going paranoid at it
