Too bad Bioware fell off - Well actually in terms of money 'wasted' on games' it's good but it sucks when a company you once had complete faith in drops off the 'omg they are coming out with another game, I'm going to pre-order it' list.

"I preordered DA2 because it seemed that I'd like the game and I will preorder Mass Effect 3 if it seems like I'd like that game too"
Don't know people never include such an option in their polls, it is the first I think of ...

The only way I'll pre-order Mass Effect 3 is if there's some really amazing pre-order bonus that I simply don't want to risk not having. Otherwise, pre-ordering in general is completely pointless. I guarantee Best Buy will have an entire display filled with copies regardless, and with the direction ME2 took the series (and Mac Walters now being the sole lead writer responsible for ME3), I'd rather adopt a wait and see attitude.
Wasn't he always the lead writer for Mass Effect?
Even if he isn't it's the same writing team through the whole series

Drew Karpyshyn was the lead writer for ME1. Drew and Mac teamed up as co-lead writers for ME2. Now Drew has moved on to work on Star Wars: TOR and Mac Walters is the only lead writer for ME3. Judging by some of the questionable story choices made for ME2 and the absolute lore attrocity that is ME: Genesis (written by Mac), Walters' helming the writing team for the pinnacle story of the series doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

What if some of the story choices in ME2 were Drews idea?
And didn't Mac lead write for LotSB?

Overall, we don't have enough info yet, and what we do have is a mixed bag. Some encouraging, some not so much, IMO. So given this, I think the poll needs another three options: I did/didn't like (or didn't play) DA2, but I'll wait and see where ME3 is going first.

We don't know what parts of ME2's story were writen by Drew and which parts were writen by Mac. But if Drew was solely responsible for ME1 and I loved that story, and the only change in ME2 is that Mac was introduced as a co-lead writer then one can reasonably assume that the unfavorable bits are the result of Mac's input. Plus, Genesis pretty much reinforces that Mac's philosphy is style over substance and the rule of cool, which basically parallels everything that I find objectionable with ME2's story.
And no, Mac Walters actually had no involvement whatsoever with LotSB. Consequently, I actually found LotSB's story quite good. The relation doesn't escape me.
