The wave of enemies doesn't lead me the player to recover much.

I mean, granted you rarely loose mana. But you loose health like a ****. I'm done by the first wave. Four waves and you've sensory overloaded my brain to the extremes.

Its been pretty much a week since I stopped playing DA2 (1 complete play through as warrior, half a play through for rogue and mage), I'm back to playing origins (I love Claudia Black as a VA, Morrigan wee!) Installed Hi-Res texture pack mod for it, and some other graphic improvement mods, and imho it now looks better than DA2. More colourful.

Also, Scared Ashes Leliana and Morrigan mods installed :D

And theres really nothing to argue against from all the posts I've read so far.. Pretty much agree to them to a certain degree.

The feeling seems to be mutual to a lot of players. I also pre-ordered it, but I didn't even get past act II before I quit playing. Origins had me so enthralled that I couldn't stop playing during my free time until I beat it, but DA2 doesn't give me the same feeling for some unexplained reason.

I've officially stopped playing now that I've reached Act 3 and am getting merril's quests out of order and cut scenes without doing the quests. I don't want the flow of the story to be ruined or some choices to get messed up due to the bugs and am hoping a patch will fix it, instead of needing a "fresh" playthrough. Also hope its soon as I do like DA2 even if it could have been so much more.

I didnt stop playing, I continued to to end of the game in the hope that at some point, something would happen.

To me this game was incredibly anti-climatic. Is there even a main storyline?

The Templar/Mage situation became like hearing a stuck record, especially being an Origins player, and finding out that it was the main focus of DA2 was quite shocking to say the least.

I cant help but think that I've just spent 50 hours on a side quest.

It's well written, the characters are nice (Nothing amazing may I add), but this game just has no soul.

Overall, I'm very disappointed. Yet it continues to get gleaming reviews every-which-way, which leaves me confused. I wont even mention the level design, not that I care, but it's quite shocking. Kirkwall is just.... boring. Coming from the people that made Neverwinter Nights, I just expect to get engrossed in Bioware's games, and most have done just that... until DA2.

It get's good reviews because big sites don't want EA to pull advertising/exclusives in the future, slao most places rate on a 7-10 scale so an 8 sucks anyway.

Thought as much. I wont say anything bad about EA (Again) as I may wake up to find a horses head in my bed.

I don't have much use for professional game reviewers, but this has been the lowest rated Bioware RPG of them all. The Sonic game was rated lower, but I don't think even DA2 enthusiast count that one...

I agree. I went back to Origins using the better GPU that I bought for DA2. Its hard to put your finger on why DA2 is so dissapointing, but I think its just so hard to get involved in it. I had so many quests in Act 1 and I couldn't remember why I was doing them. Go to a small area and kill some guys, quest over. Repeat. blaahh. I wanna make decisions that really matter in a game too.

-sighs- After watching my brother play it on end for the last week, I can only feel justified in my opinions on it. He enjoyed it more than Origins, and it's because he couldn't play Origins properly, but he still felt that the way the game played caused it to collapse in Act 3, just like with Kotor2 in it's endgame. And if that's the case, then it'll need patching up with DLC, and a game just shouldn't need DLC to stop it from being unplayable.

I stopped in the middle of the second playthrough. Just cant see the same maps again and again. and where are the consequences for your choices? I denied Merril the idol to repair the mirror but its repaired after some time. I ****** of Aveline and she stays with me.
Even the shorter ME2 had more consequences to see then DA2.

I started a second playthrough, but I can't play it for more than maybe 2 hours. Recycled maps absolutely kill the replay value. When it came to DAO or Mass Effect 2, as soon as i beat the games, I started another playthrough and still WANTED to play the game. On my first playthrough of DA2, i tried doing every sidequest (as i do in almost all games), and the game just seemed to drag on (which wasnt a problem in dao or me2). But for some reason, i just HAVE to get all the achievements, so i'll play untill I do. After that, it's probably on the shelf for the rest of my life

I threw in the towel just before the end of Act 1 - once I found out that my DA:O import was likely bugged (and I've since confirmed that it is), I deleted the character and shelved the game until the import problems get resolved.

My main interest is seeing how my Wardens' respective stories turn out in the end; I'm very much against the idea of Hawke as a fixed race/voiced protagonist and wanted to make him/her a rival to the specific Warden I chose to import. If the world history is bugged however, that sort of defeats the entire purpose of playing the game as far as I'm concerned.

I started a second playthrough, but I don't want to play anymore now that I've found Isabela. I can't deal with the friendship glitch now that I know about it, and I don't want to rp as a rival (I'm not even entirely sure how to do that). They need to patch this game fast.

I love how she caused me to have to kill <SPOLIERS DELETED> and then later discuses the <SPOILERS DELETED> in a way that indicates she has no idea you killed them... even though she was with you and caused you to do it.
