The thing is: The preview doesn't tell us anything: At that point the previewer didn't know anything we didn't know yet. It's easy to see he is hyped for this game, but so am I, and I don't need gaming magazines to tell me that the game COULD be awesome

I'm Belgian actually. Not that it matters, together we did some asskicking for goodness and went down in style in Warden's Quest.

Also, this CG mag I'm referring to is quite critical and objective in their analysis - so, I guess it's save to assume that it's a prette accuracte review ...
It was ... disillusioning, really.
The game is great, that's what they said, but it's FAR from perfect ... so, fanboys will love it (they always do!) and other gamers will like it. There are things better compared to other games (story, deep characters) and there are "bad" things (UI, handling of things etc. - and, surprisingly, technicall glitches).
I'm not going into details, because here are more fanboys (naturally) than other gamers and I don't want to ruin your day...
Cheers.

can't you at least say wich magazine you are talking about? "a computer gaming magazine" ain't really a good reference.
Maybe I'll post a summary this evening (I'm @ work currently and have no access to the article) and then I'll reveal the name of the CGmag ok?

No acces to the article but you're on this site? strange.. well whatever.
I don;t believe anything from what you're saying. From what I have seen, a lot of reviews, opinions and game material, DA:O is still awsome till proven different.
Why not just say the name.. we aren't all fanboys who are gonna cry or something.

They wouldnt know how to review or preview a game with some level of professionalism if it hit them in the face.

Anyway, the idea of a preview is - I thought, atleast - that you played like a beta version of the game. Not that you read stuff on the internet like thousands of other fans and then make a summary of that.

I don't know the average age here, but I am guessing that most people here are too old for Hyves
I'm not too old for hyves, I'm just a degenerate shut in who refuses to set up a hyves account for fear of the fact that people will know that I have no friends

I like the PU btw and also GameKings, but from the insane ammount of sponsers it's hard to take em seriously =/ That's also my problem with GameSpot for instance. To many advertising, money ect.. I prefer the independant magazine's and websites.
@Boe2: yeah I had the same impression. It's also kinda weird for some guys to have played the entire game with multiple characters, as he states! Even the BioWare promotion guys haven't done that. Without rushing that's impossible imo. The warden's quest teams got to 16% in 24 hours and they rushed like their life was on the line!

As for Hyves... Well I suppose I am still within the age-range, but I have a distaste for all those websites.
