Im wondering since i bought me1 and me2 for pc. Now i need to spend another 40$ just to buy all dlc on pc. So my question is will it be like da2 where dlc choices add something or just main save of game?

Yeah, DLC definately has an effect...especially Mass Effect 2 DLC's because they are "Bridging" DLC's...they connect the story for what is happening between Mass Effect 2 and 3. It's worth it!

I doubt they'll affect anything major, it'll probably be more like BDTS where you just get some special news reports.

Just buy the story DLC's, you don't need the weapons or appearance packs if your worried of paying that much. The story ones are definately worth it. Quality work done by Bioware.

or you could just wait for a ultimate edition.

You act like the DLC isn't worth the money in its own right. LOTSB and Overlord are well worth $15.
Kasumi...eh? Depends on how many times you plan to play the game. If you plan to play it a few tines like I have, then Kasumi is worth it.
Jury isn't even in yet on Arrival.

is it worth it to get some of the dlc's? of course. will it severely impact the story that you see when me3 is released? not likely. it's like the "bring down the sky" dlc for me1. didn't affect anything at all except getting an email and a news report or two in me2.

Well there was a lolemail and a news story about the asteroid DLC from ME1 so I figure that will continue.

From what I heard, stuff like Kasumi's Stolen Memory and Zaeed aren't going to effect it at all. But LOSB and Arrival will.

Overlord and Lair of the Shadowbroker both presented major storythemes and developments, Overlord especially has a big choice in it that will probably have at least a semi-large impact in ME3. Lair of the Shadowbroker however has a few revelations and an awesome story that will more than likely continue into ME3.

I think you guys are assuming too much...
If you don't play LOTSB, and a certain Asari doesn't become the new SB, then what the hell is going to happen in ME3? Will this certain Asari just not show up? It seems that LotSB and Arrival are incredibly important to the main plot (LOTSB with regards to getting a contact within the Broker's organization, and Arrival with regards to the coming invasion).
I think Bioware should grow some balls and actually make these DLC matter in a BIG way. Not only will that ensure that people who have spent more money on their franchise get some good reward, but it might entice new players to purchase the DLC to see what is different in ME3. And not just a new report.
IE: Liara becomes a good information contact and gives you several leads on places to go and people to interact with on your quest in ME3 to stop the Reapers. And not just emails, but face-to-face talks, voice-over-comms and visits to the Normandy for hankypanky time.

You know, I really don't think that the ME1 DLC are a fair basis for judgement in this situation. Bring Down the Sky was free first of all, so there's no reason to expect anything out of it other than being fun, and second it really had nothing to do with the plot at all, the biggest effect it had was simply introducing us to Batarians. As for Pinnacle Station, well really how much effect would you really expect out of it? You beat some lousy high scores, is that supposed to somehow make the Reapers fear you more than blowing up Sovereign? Were you expecting to use that quaint little prefab as a base of operations instead of the most technologically advanced ship in the galaxy?

a DLC that is "vital" to the story is a not possible, don't worry DLC is optional.
for me I do prefer expansion packs
big ones hope we get one for ME3

"Shadow Broker" certainly needs to affect ME3.

Considering that not everybody has all the DLC, and not everybody will have played ME2 -- there may be another comic presented at the beginning of ME3 where choices can be made regarding major decisions from the game and from DLC.
I do not know for certain, but I hope this is true, because I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who cannot get DLC stuff.

I think the LoSB should play a moderate role in ME3. I read here that people say it's just that Liara says at the beginning of ME3 that she now has another job but considering that DLC it doesn't make sense imo. You give her the info she uses to track him down and she certainly couldn't do it without your help so in ME3 if you didn't do it there should be 3 options. She is either on the same spot she was in ME2 and is still searching, she let go of it and moved on or she found out something and got herself killed in the process.

I think they all should be important in ME3, just slap on those similar history things, that they had for DA2, if you didn't have an import. I don't want the decisions from my DLC to be meaningless, just because some small part of the community can't get them.

Guys, guys, guys you all seem to be assuming that if a user never played through LOTSB that it will have never happened in regards to their continuity going into ME3. I think it's obvious that the very reason why there were no choices in LOTSB is because it happened regardless of weather or not you played through it and I'll bet that Arrival will be the same. In short, by the time you're playing ME3 Liara will have her new job and whatever happened in Arrival will have happened regardless of weather you actually played through those DLC packs.

But you take an active role in it. You're not an observer. Those things happen as a direct consequences of your actions.

Then just have someone else take care of it, if Shepard didn't.

He gives her the info, they use Normandy because of stealth to get on a ship (is she supposed to take a taxi instead?) and in the end he helps in a fight. You think she would have survived the assault alone? Or the final showdown?

Even if you haven't played Shadow Broker, the 3rd game acts as you have. Pretty simple.

That's a little .....lame. So Shepard gets a hit in the head by a debris at the beginning and they remind him what he did few weeks/months ago?

I didn't play Bring down the sky and I don't remember ME2 telling me that I did.
Sry for the double post.
