later on i could even find 1 handed swords staves and daggers who deal more damage than my 2handed weapon isnt that a bit weird? and i can upgrade the armor of my companions okay but i even got to a point where they had 3 times more armor than me even the mages...
is that normal or just because im playing on casual?

Its normal, the difference to the armor is that you get head, hands, body, and feet, where as their (companions) is a fixed set. Also, the champions armor set pwns, and get the highest bonus for the rune of valiance.

As for 2-handed weapons, they have a lower damage number, but when you factor in your high strength score, and the 2-hander/vanguard/reaver abilities, a good 2-hander warrior does copious amounts of damage.

The top 1H and 2H weapons have the same listed DPS, it's true. However, don't forget that 2H weapons will hit multiple targets.

Weapon & Shield and Two-Handed do actually both hit multiple targets: Weapon and Shield attacks cover a cone of 90º in front of Hawke while Two-Handed attacks cover a cone of 120º in front of Hawke.  That's just auto-attacks, though, generally Two-Handed talents cover a larger AoE given the nature of their abilities (Whirlwind goes 360º, Scythe goes a whole line through, while Scatter covers about 180º and Assault still only covers the normal 90º).

The auto-attack range is negligible on the whole; your real question is whether or not the missed AoE from talents is worth the damage mitigation from a shield, which means it's really personal preference.

Ah, I stand corrected. Didn't know that about 1H weapons. :P

Ezrafetch,

Have you tested Assault to confirm it does the standard 90, or get that information from somewhere specific?  I haven't tested it, but I'm pretty sure on my new S&S playthrough that I've been auto attacking side by side with Aveline and not hitting her, then use Assault and give her a good wallop.  It seems to me that Assault might be a bit larger an AOE than the standard auto attack, but I could be wrong.

I'm really enjoying S&S so far, and running two warriors who can stand side by side fighting and not slice each other to ribbons is great.

Two handed warriors are very powerful.

The easy answer, despite the DPS stats from the swords, are the skills you choose making 2handers much more vicious.

Edit:  And late game, the 2hander is really, really mean.

I'm not quite sure, there have been instances where I should've hit multiple people but only gotten one with Assault, but I have had instances of getting multiples.  I assumed with the lack of occurrence of multiple targets hit that Assault was the normal 90º cone, but I'm going to get rolling with my SnS again in a bit so I'll be able to test more.  I could totally be wrong if you've seen yourself FF Aveline with Assault.

I'm pretty sure Assault is 120°. I routinely hit 3 enemies in front of me, positioned front and center, to the left, and to the right.
