So apparently Leliana or Nightengale is the right hand and second in command of the chantry and it's armies. I wonder how she managed that and if there will be an expansion/dlc explaining how she acquired that position.   Since she mentioned that there is also trouble in Orlais and it was also mentioned that Fereldan and Orlais were on the verge of war I am guessing she will have a major role to play in the next game.  Especially with the Templars and Mages rebelling against them. Thoughts on this?

Yeah, and according to the barman at the Hanged Man Divine Justinia is getting old and looking for a successor...

I would like to know when she left my Warden. They were a couple after all.

Hell, that's nothing. Last I knew she and my pro-circle Mage Warden Chancelor were hanging out in Deneriem.

When is your first encounter with her? I apparently didn't trigger it.

I thought it was not optional but then I find out it is.

Yeah, this crossed my mind too. Maybe they killed off our Warden to fit the storyline. Or maybe our Warden is now an Orlais Warden. Hell, he has been everywhere else. lol!  It would be great if you could choose between using either Hawke or your Grey Warden in DA3 and maybe even see the opposite character in some type of role during the upsoming war that is alluded to.

She is a divine agent of the Maker. She does not age.

LOL! I'm just kidding! It's a development oversight/something Bioware just decide not to do for whatever reason. Nobody in Hawke's party ages either.

Wait I read in another thread, typically I cant remember which, that she was the Left Hand of the Divine? Something about the Left Hand being the enforcer of the Divine, and the right being the successor? Or maybe I'm just spouting crap. :S

She is the reborn Andraste, I tell you. So the Maker stole Maferath's wife, and my Warden the Maker's. Fair enough.

Respectfully, I don't think Leliana is what you suggest. A piece of lore I found somewhere in the game mentioned that the Chantry has what amounts to "Internal Affairs" division cops -- agents who root out corruption among Templar and Chantry personnel -- agents even Templars fear.

EDIT: The Seekers of Truth are what these "Internal Affairs" types are called. They're described in a lore entry titled Seekers of Truth, which is presented as a letter from an unnamed cleric. I have no memory of where I found this letter in-game. Sorry.

I'm thinking Leliana and her partner were two of these SoT types -- trying to piece together just what the hell happened in Kirkwall.

Me? I told them it was all the Knight-Commander's fault (it was!), and then asked Leliana to marry me.

Cheers!

She's actually refered to as The Left Hand of The Divine to be exact. And I doubt she is in line to succeed Justinia. It's interesting to note that if you romanced her in Origins you get a letter from her in Awakening saying that she was in Orlais meeting the Divine (I guess because word reached her ear of the role Leliana played in stopping the blight) and that she wishes she could be there with you, it's possible that during this time Leliana began serving Justinia. Leliana most likely is only serving as a spy of sorts at least until she joined the Seekers at the end. Or she could of been with the Seekers the whole time no one really knows at this point.

If she's the left-hand of the Divine...

Does the Divine beat people down with her left hand?

I never ever once got a letter in awakenings on the console. Must have been a bug.

It was at first, but then they eventually patched it.

Alright my memory must be fading. The letter actually doesn't say she was in Orlais just that she was asked to have an audience with "The Grand Cleric herself" whatever that means.

The Seekers are the left hand of the Divine. The Templars are the right hand.
