i got nwn dimond to play with a buddy of mine. when we started it up and went to the multiplayer, we added each other. while we are both online it shows that we are offline to each other, and he cannot see games i create.
any suggestions?

Thats odd...it shouldn't show you as offline to each other. Did you check under the correct tab? The friends tab that is.
Also there could be a small lag in that system. I don't know how big...it could also be temporary.
You can try getting Xfire also...you and your friend. It is another program but it could be worth it...

Perhaps router settings need to be adjusted?
Can you provide system specs?

I've had the same problem, we could even talk on the chat section, but were both shown as offline on the buddy list. I've been posting a short module I've been trying to test and my game never shows up for my friend to join.

Chatting is different from actually connecting to a server.
Open ports on your router... there should be a post somewhere with the number ranges you need to adjust.

Apologies if I'm teaching my granny how to suck eggs, but
1. make sure you both have the "allow others to see my status" in your Buddy List set to "Always", or "Only to Buddies"
2. If you are hosting a game/module, send your server's IP address to your pal so they can direct connect to it. This way they can join you even if they can't see your game listed in gamespy.
