I'm just curious about people's opinions on this. I have to say Varric has the best sustain in the game with Bianca's Song, bar none. A boost to attack, attack speed, movement speed, critical damage, AND critical chance?! Yes plz. Now I'm on the line that says Aveline has the worst in Immovable. I don't know what would possess a person to use this ability, but I think it's pure garbage.

Bianca's song is definitely the best by far. The worst has to be Panacea.

Agreed.  If that didn't include revive it would be a total waste.

Immovable isn't something you keep on constantly or use against just one or two targets. Set her up with something like this:

Self: Surrounded by at least four enemies | Use current condition for next tactic
Self: Health <50% | Activate Mode: Immovable
Self: Health >=50% | Deactivate Mode: Immovable

If she's getting low HP and tanking multiple enemies, the damage reduction can add up pretty fast and keep he alive until you can get a heal on her.

As for best/worst: Bianca's Song is best for sure. Worst is Panacea. :P

I tried tactics similar to those, but the battles in DA 2 happen so fast that when she throws Immovable up, someone else immediately grabs aggro and she can't steal it back thanks to the abysmal attack speed penalty she had accrued. That's just me though. If you can make Immovable viable, it simply adds another tool to Aveline's repertoire that makes her an even better tank.

stonewall + kiting trumps immovable, kiting trumps immovable.

I gave Aveline Immovable, and the Tank preset had a pretty solid setup for using it.

Self: Surrounded by 3 or more enemies --> Activate Mode: Immovable
Self: Surrounded by no enemies --> Deactivate Mode: Immovable

You might consider replacing the second tactic with a 'Self: Surrounded by 2 or fewer enemies' tactic to deactivate Immovable, if such a tactic exists. That way, she uses it when she's surrounded, but turns it off when she's only up against a few enemies.

That being said, I don't like Immovable. Assuming Threat works mostly like it did in Origins, the two main components to Threat are Distance (which is pointless in the middle of a fight) and Damage. Activating Immovable lowers Aveline's ability to cause damage, meaning that her threat-generation drops. As soon as she activates Immovable, the only way she can generate Threat is with Taunt, or with a Rogue set up to transfer threat to her with Goad. Essentially, turning on Immovable kills Aveline's ability to Tank. Not a good idea.
