The game keeps crashing every minute, in the areas of the wounded coast (especially) and in the side alley (act 2 main quest area).
Any idea about when they are gonna bix bugs?

I get freezes since 1.01. The mouse keeps moving, music plays in the background but I can't move, click anything or quit out of cider. Not even force quit works. Doesn't matter if its full screen or window mode the freeze just takes the whole computer with it and I have to hard reset.
I'm sure its doing wonders to my hard drives.

I had lockups as Crunchinmilk describes before the patch. Since the 1.01 patch, the issue is far worse, happening at least every hour. It's very frustrating.

Given the up in frequency since the patch, I'm curious what sort of cpu's we're using.
I have a i5 (4 cores)
and a ATi 4850
I really should have clicked 'no' during the patch install process as the game worked fine before it.

Same here... is there a way to downgrade?

I installed a fresh copy of the game and refused the upgrade... the problem persists. Hard freezes that force a restart of the entire machine. Switched mice, restored BioWare files to the state they were in before the problem occurred, no good. I'm stumped... for now.

Is it crsahing during the same scene? DAO did that for me on the Mac and I got around it by having a different companion active whe. I triggered certain events. Perhaps try that?

Nah, crashing in all sorts of places, with different characters, etc. I then tried playing another graphics-intense game for a bit (Force Unleashed) and lo! and behold, that froze too... long story short: my graphics card was damaged (I had it fixed by Apple in case anyone's wondering why it took me so long to respond).
Now, the BIG question is—could DA2 have something to do with a hardware failure like that? A frightening thought
... I don't wanna believe that, but what do I know.

My game is crashing immediatelly after I try to enter Wounded Coast. In loading screen game just locks up and there is some system error in "backround" of game. After pressing enter game disapear.
Game is uplayable for me now, because all my quests are in Wounded Coast. I am very disapointed because this problem persist also after patch 1.03...
My system spec:
Phenom II 965
8GB RAM
Radeon HD5770 crossfire @ catalyst 11.4
