It seems a bit part of this game was taking both sides Templars and Mages to extremes. And this game has created conflicting opinions with either people taking Mage or Templars side. Though it seems like most of the extreme measures from mages were taken out of desperation, as the Templars had them practically backed into a corner. The fact that the Templars were pushing the mages so hard, and treated them as they did caused more mages to take desperate measures in attempt to survive.

Personally, I suggest an unbiased approach to the situation, one which applies to both the Mages and the Templars equally.

Kill them all! Take no prisoners, and burn the bodies! The Maker will recognize his own...

I sided with the Templars. I mean, have you SEEN the uniform they wear? So lovely..............

That or a "Screw you both Iam going home" option which shows Hawke in his house PJs pull up a chair to the window, grab a pint, sit back, and watch the Gallows burn. hehehehe..........

It would have been nice to just said 'screw it you two kill each other I'm going to the pub' option.
